One of the most unique things about them honestly, the way that they piggyback especially on songs like White Hot, it's just masterful synchronisation of both their singing and screaming/growling talent.

Loathe is one of my favorite Metalcore crossover bands, I've been listening to them since their first album, I'm waiting for a supposed third album. Yes there's two singers, but sometimes the singer and screamer switch roles or even both sing, or both scream. The main vocalist is named Kadeem France. The band is from the U.K.

I saw these guys in concert with my daughter. I was familiar with their music and she wasn't. Their scream singer was sick so the clean singer had to do it all. For one song the screamer came in and then there was another band member that sang. Everyone sounded incredible. My daughter looked at me and said " how many singers do they have?" It was sooo good. Glad you're reacting to more Loathe. And I know how much you enjoy ambient. React to Silent Planet, Panic Room. You won't regret it!!!!

Love Loathe so much, Screaming is my favourite, it's just such a vibe. Live, they do live and die by the sound guy on the night due to them being purely bass + baritone guitars, if the bass frequencies are washed out then the band is gutted as there isn't much in the other ranges (I have seen this happen to them!). A deep dive into The Ocean would me amazing Geebz!

@Exequiel Bassman yeah thats a hard one lol, they got so much great stuff. I personally love them especially for their album experience, so if u got the time to just throw one on, either of their 2 most recent are great starts. But specific songs, either "Jurassic | Cretaceous", or "Silurian: Age of Sea Scorpions" are both great. Kinda give a brief view of their sound, even tho its a lot more diverse still.
@takoshihitsamaru4675

Something really unique about Loathe's first two albums is this idea that the albums actually represent a story with each song being a chapter of said stories, they create something of a place and when you listen to it as a whole with their explanations/rationales, it really starts to paint this almost theatrical performance of what the heck they had envisioned for this. In songs like East of Eden, you can almost hear the characters on the stage reading their lines, multiple characters all playing out a scene. I Let it in And it Took Everything is a bit less so, but it still has that sense of placement and even in the rationale of the instrumental ambient opening, the band states "you enter into the universe of I Let it in" and honestly, there's no better explanation. Soundscape is their bread and butter and though the band has changed that sound a bit here and there over the years, they still sound like what you think of when you think of Loathe, if that makes sense.

Me personally i love ‘The Cold Sun’ album, but ‘I Let It In…’ album is absolutely unreal is so many levels from songwriting, production, story telling sonically from each song bleeding into the next, from heaviness to the most ethereal songs. They just really showcased everything masterfully and just how prestigious they are. I bought the instrumental version of ILIIAITE, and the little subtle intricacies in production on some great headphones will blow your mind. I had an absolute field day with the things they were doing. George Lever their producer is absolutely unreal (also produced for Sleep Token & Thornhill). Can’t get over these guys

Loathe has really grown on me so this was great to see! All of my favorite modern metal bands (Loathe, Spiritbox, Sleep Token, etc) have one thing in common (to my ear): they all have direct musical lineage to the Deftones. A lot of that dark, ambient, experimental sound with the mixing of harsh and clean vocals comes from the Deftones and I love to hear it!

@@dash8dr It was a great show. Every band killed it. I haven't seen Periphery since 2017 so it was awesome to finally see Reptile live, but of course that means they only got to play a small handful of songs as an opener. Also, I had only seen Underoath once before in 2010 when they were without Aaron (and only played It's Dangerous Business from They're Only Chasing Safety) so it was awesome to see some of the classics with him back. Definitely a little nostalgic. And then Loathe had the perfect mix of the heavier stuff and the "Deftones-esque" stuff.

They definitely have two vocalists, but Kadeem can flip between cleans and growls, and Erik is mostly seen committing to the growls, but I think on Aggressive Evolution it's actually him singing the cleans. Wonderful band and one of my favorites since I Let It In was released.

@@neonjellyshark1368 You could be totally correct there, I just find it much more noticeable in aggressive evolution and two way mirror than in the other tracks because there's a lot more vocal effects and other layered instrumentals on top of the vocals that it's not as easy to tell.

Huge fan of The Cold Sun, top tier songwriting & production on that album. They never play it live but P.U.R.P.L.E. is a GOD TIER track. Imo their clean vocals became too dreary on their 2nd album, the hooks just aren't as memorable for me. I miss when Eric used to belt at the top of his vocal range in the choruses eg Stigmata. Newer stuff feels like their trying to imitate Deftones too much. Not the same band since Connor left. Regardless of how I feel about the way their sound has changed, fair play to them, they work bloody hard and deserve their success.

I’m not familiar with their discography at all. Were any of these songs from the first album? The cleans on most of these is very cringe for me. Sounds like 2000s generic rock. I don't know much about this band however I do like the songs themselves. I just wish there was more depth to the overall sound. Like I guess the experimental boundaries that they could go to like going into like an orchestration or some kind of a left field where the listener would have no idea what's coming up like the jazz section or some saxophone or just something out of nowhere to surprise you and really keep you interested in locked in, I'm missing that with this. Even a keyboard would be really interesting. I'm sorry for being critical. I'm trying to get my decomposer ears fired up lol. I do like these tracks though they're just not my favorite..... But the bass is dope 🤘🤙

I think you need to sit and actually listen to an album of theirs all the way through. They have a very distinct pallet as musicians using extended range guitars and using interesting chords and melodies. I would advise listening to their album I let it In and It Took Everything. Plenty use of synthesizers and even acoustic guitars in places. They are not going to randomly have a jazz section or saxophone or whatever. Loathe is a very deliberate band in the way they compose and write music so doing something just to do it really wouldn't fit their vibe. Though if you want to hear a random jazz section in a metal song, go check out Wildfire by Periphery.

May I also suggest a band? The Name: "Arise in Stability" The Songs: "Noise Heard in the Moon" and "Madness Gives Rise to Enlightenment". These two Songs are absolutely amazing (others are also). There is a lot to analyze. I can't even describe how unique this band sounds, since they have a anstonishing mix of old and very modern western metal with a very interesting infusion of traditional japanese songwriting (no traditional japanese Instruments). Tney are also very melodic and every single one of these guys is a master of his craft. The singer, for example, has mastered screaming, grunting, singing, scream-rapping, normal rapping and other styles and techniques and often uses all of them within one song. I would love to see a decomposer-session on these guys.

this is like numetal/hardcore/experimental @keyofgeebz it's like something newer djent/hardcore bands are doing -- ripping elements of 90's and even early 2000's numetal such as singing like deftones/chevelle/blindside and wrapping that up into djent hardcore/rock theme with also adding this "chill ambient" stuff in there and then trying to turn on the djent sound whenever they need to. Man, yet another band with absolutey stellar heavy parts to my ears, but the clean sections just drag it down too much. I never seem to be able to find a band with this kind of sound that just stays heavy (or has good cleans for my personal taste). This might be the first slow burn I don’t finish. Cheers to everyone else that’s seeming to love it. Happy for you.

you will like some of their heavy tracks live gored, heavy is the head, dance on my skin, banshee, rest; in violence, because they don't have cleans on that tracks

@@fiend265x awesome thank you so much! Lots of bands like this where they have some absolute bangers but I shy away from because I can’t find the good stuff (for me, nothing against the band). This really helps!

@@yhamez I recommend you also finish this slow burn, there's one of the heavier tracks but with clean chorus called East Of Eden and pretty enjoyable clean (almost) track called Screaming

@@fiend265x thanks again, finished it up. East of Eden is easily the standout track of the five for me. The cleans are still slightly over the cringe line for me, but it’s limited enough that I can handle it. Screaming is rougher for me. Again I love the heavier and darker elements, but the cleans are a bit too much for me. The cleans don’t sound quite as over processed as in some of the earlier songs in this video at least. Thanks so much for your recommendations.

@@yhamez yeah, most of their songs actually sounds like East Of Eden, there's New Faces In The Dark with absolutely crushing breakdown, It's Yours with cool main riff and also crushing final breakdown, or Broken Vision Rhythm with a bit more hardcoreish/old metalcore sound (also 0 cleans), and more... I just want to name all of their songs but i don't think it will help more to understand and appreciate diversity
