Am I understanding this correctly? Leg eater is some weird mantis bug thing. He makes these charms that you can buy, but they break if you die. They have his smell, so his pheromones, on them and they're used as a courting/mating gift for others of his species. You can take them to Divine, who is also a weird mantis slug thing, who is glad to receive his courting/mating gift. You can pay for her to eat them to upgrade them then poop them out which gets her smell/pheromones on them. By doing this she has accepted his mating proposal. You can take them back to Leg Eater which tells him that she has accepted and shows him where to find her. He goes to her, presumably they mate, and then she eats him leaving only his claws as evidence. Hollow Knight never ceases to amaze me.

Yep. Pretty much. I like that Team Cherry added that Divine wanted to take Leg Eater’s claws with her to remember him. That’s why she didn’t eat his claws/legs. Seeing as his name is Leg Eater, I think that’s kind of ironic Divine didn’t eat his legs.

Since I didn't know she would devour my fragile heart, you can imagine how pissed I was being 3 charms away from getting Salubra's blessing. Scrapped up all the geo I could, found the bank lady, lost that geo when -spoilers hidden- and I ran back to Divine to pay for my property. The unbreakable upgrade made it worth it though when I added it to my Path of Pain charm loadout.

I know this is an old video buuuuuuut I don't believe they are Mantises 1. It is a bit over done at this point in the game with the Mantis Tribe and their Lords, the Mantis Traitors and his Child. 2. Divine's anatomy is so far removed from general Mantis anatomy. Team Cherry has the right to creative liberties, yes, but they generally stayed quite true to form for most of the easily distinguishable bugs I believe they are possibly Termites. Leg Eater's blindness, Divines anatomy, and Leg Eaters dream to be King are my biggest leads on this....... But her eating him throws me for a loop!
