Seeing how much u improved from the beginning of the video against my boy false to rising up to the challenge of pure vessel is kinda crazy in a matter of a week or 2. Very impressive performance, took me almost a month to finally clear p5 and finalize that play trophy (at heart, I played on switch). Great stuff and I do hope you come back to this in the future and attempt to beat abs rad legit (because the satisfaction u get is insane). Also for an added challenge if u end up rly enjoying the game is attempting to be some or all bosses on radiant difficulty which is where they can 1 hit u. This has probably been mentioned, but for the Delicate Flower quest, you can first drop a Dreamgate near the Grey Mourner, clear your path from enemies (smaller ones will respawn but larger ones will not) all the way (and practice the tricky platforming part near the end), Dreamgate teleport all the way back to the Grey Mourner, pick the Delicate Flower then redo the whole trip with hardly any enemies 🙂

I’m proud to say that I did not use the invincibility glitch. But seriously though when I finally beat the Patheon of Hallownest I only had three mask remaining in my heart was racing really fast. I never felt such exhilaration in a long time. Took me two weeks of almost nonstop practice to beat it.

I feel like you were making the first playthrough harder than it could be. HK is a Metroidvania, not a "find a boss and try over and over again until you beat it" game. There were many times when simply leaving a boss and going to upgrade your nail/get more charms etc would have made it so much easier. The best example is that IMO you went too deepnest way too early for a first-time player. Obviously, this isn't true for the pantheons, those are just hard. EDIT: In general I feel like going for trophies made the game a worse experience for you. Most of the time you were doing things for a certain trophy, so you never really got to get lost and get invested in the plot. Still an amazing video though

How is spending 200 hours playing this game, without a guide, backtracking to infinity trying to figure things out by yourself a better and less frustrating experience?? Believe me, I've tried. Backtracking was killing me. fast travel locations in this game are ridiculously far from each other and without looking locations up I would have quit this game on the 10 hours mark.

Its interesting, how the video did not cover some of the more interesting parts, like the Watcher Knights and getting Ismas Tear, Dung Defender, .. It makes sense, because he is just focussing on trophies, but I really would have liked to see him struggle against the watcher knights and removing the seals looked way to easy, without showing the fights/hard areas before them.

I have this little theory about the process of platting Hollow Knight... So I read somewhere that Team Cherry left the exploit in because they knew some people couldn't be miffed to earn hallownest legit, but that it was only that; an option left available by choice for those who want to use it by choice. Personally though, i think they left it in because they understood how much of a mammoth undertaking total completion is; beating pantheon 4 after weeks of practice against pure vessel in the hall of gods is still my proudest single achievement, doing it legit felt like going above and beyond. After reaching 112% completion I felt like I had truly succeeded, and that there was nothing EMERGENT left in the game to prove the absurdity of possessing platinum. I like to think this was the thought process Ari and Chris had too, knowing the effort people had put in up to that point, and offering an olive branch in return. Pantheon 5 is a true madman's game, and I tip my metaphorical hat to those who succeeded without the exploit. However, I also tip it to those who didn't, for giving this little studio the love it deserves. Here's hoping silksong is on par with this level of challenge!

Well a lot of people used the glitch every single instance possible during the game, not just for pantheon 5... If that was their thought process, team cherry didn’t realise how many people only care about plats and couldn’t care less about the game itself.. Personally, i think the glitch should have been removed (given that team cherry actually could), having every single trophy apart from P5 still shows how much a person loved the game, and at least people that actually put in the work would have something proving it

If you think this is difficult, you should see the steam achievements, there is one achievement that requires you to finish the game with 100% completion on steel soul mode (Deathless run), it was a pain in the ass, took me over 200 hours to get all the achievements, but thats nothing for the greatest game of all time, congrats for the plat.

You just gotta upgrade whatever you can and be overpowered for most fights you show up to, with shaman stone and the like.

The 5th pantheon and the embrace the void trophy is the only reason to why I've never been able to beat the game to 100%. Its such a grind and requires full mastery of the game controls and each boss. It is so so satisfying to finally overcome the challenge and win but i totally understand why you used a glitch to get through it at first.

This was actually one of the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my gaming life but I managed to platinum this game 🤩. But yeah, the amount of effort required to beat the fifth pantheon is insane, I practiced for probably one or two months in order to find a good strategy and be “consistent” (60% win ratio) against the absolute radiance. I recorded myself when I won, my heart was pumping SO hard bro 😂

Throughout the video, I could see a lot of similarities with my experience. 60-70h without the pantheons and mainly relaying on the needle as the sole weapon. Oh boy, the spells in the game are absolute beasts, Descending Dark with the damage and invincibility frames, the power of Abyss Shriek/Shade Soul that can wreck some bosses in seconds. I had to RELEARN how to play the game with spells to be able to beat the Pantheon of Hallownest and get the plat after 112h. You shouldn't feel pressured to get content out, put it on the side and come back later. You said it yourself "I do feel bad for doing this", have more resilience you could've done it! This platinum sure feels Hollow for you now. Why not a 2 part video with a cliffhanger at the end of the first one.

The video was fun to watch, and enjoyable, i have spent over 200 hours on this game trying to get everything, including the Steel soul permadeath ones on PC. But Trophy's and acheivments are there to earn them. If you can't, thats 100% acceptable, but in the spirit of the Statistics that are put out for the competion rates, and the respect for the people who HAVE earned them, i just can't support the use of a cheat to get them. If you can't get a trophy, thats totally acceptable, it happens, in this case, leave it then as respect for the people that did do it.

If you ever wanna try radiant absolute radiance, I would recommend you to put a lot of effort in your attacks (when you want to attack). Also use abyss shriek, makes it sometimes easier. It took me about 8 hours with a 3 month break when I was at like 4 hours.

Understood that it takes time and practice to get the Pantheon 5 trophy. But then why not just leave it at that? Don’t complete the plat because you didn’t earn it. You earned the others. Getting the plat with invincibility cheat cheapens the platinum. Seeing your platinum list now raises eye brows and should have asterisks on it. Loved the video, just wish you would have left it as incomplete, then come back later to get the plat legit.

The flower quest is so annoying after they patched the warp ability. I did it with a different route, magic and the shield. The most annoying part are the thorns at the end.

I'm sorry but if you cannot beat the last pantheon, then you don't really deserve the platinum. It hurts seeing this after achieving the Platinum legit myself. Suddenly for everyone who did this without cheating, the Achievement lost most of it's value. I don't understand why you couldn't just admit your defeat. What point do Platinums have for Trophyhunters if they are no Challenge? It is a pity, because up till the end I really liked the video.

Michael did I not admit defeat? Look back in the video, I said I wasn’t capable of doing it legit at the moment. As a creator I can’t afford to dump all those hours into the game, I wouldn’t be able to post any videos. I admitted defeat by saying I couldn’t do it, I’m not out here claiming I was able to do it legit. I do regret doing the glitch in hindsight and it does diminish this accomplishment but I still played the other pantheons and the rest of the game legit.

But what I meant was to accept that you currently can't achieve the Platinum and revisit it again in a couple of months, instead of cheating it. Because it diminishes the accomplishment for everyone who did not use the glitch. That being said, I liked the rest of the video and I will watch your videos in the future, I just hope you understand what I mean and will face and overcome difficult trophies in the future, because I think that your viewers (myself included) prefer quality over quantity, so it would not have hurt waiting longer for this video and seeing you succeed :)

if you want to beat pantheon 5 legit, and use shaman stone and downgrade your nail it is possible to beat it easily that way, also if you do the bindings it will give you blue masks at every bench around 5 max. what happens when u downgrade your nail (use binding for nail) you reduce the bosses HP, hence it is much easier with spells to kill bosses. i did it that way, speaking from experience i finished it on PC first and i have over 300 hours on PC while when i did it on PS4 it took me exactly around 13 to 14 hours including the pantheons, its easy when you get used to bosses patterns. My charm build was, grub song, soul catcher, shaman stone, quick focus, spell twister. this way you can cheese the pantheon easy. if you feel confident, maybe change some charms like spell twister+ grub song to flukenest charm because i deals insane damage.

The hollow knight stabbed himself cause he still has a good side, he's infected and can't really control himself, so he tries helping you out by trying to end himself. Also, the hollow knight is the same as the knight we play as, and in one of the endings (I forget if its the true one or not) the player knight turns into the hollow knight after defeating the hollow knight and maybe the radiance, so its a big cycle, that I think is broken after getting the kingsoul which gives the true ending

ama be honest im one of the few that has beaten the pantheon of hallownest and when i did i just didnt say anything i was so happy that i finished this took me 3 days to beat it i was so goddamn proud of doing it ALSO i love that he is honest about using the glitch because he needs to make videos i believe he can try this offscreen maybe live on youtube or twitch and then be satisfied with completing hollow knight

I don’t know why but hornet sentinel in kingdoms edge took more out of me and took longer then pure vessel and the whole 4th pantheon but that 5th pantheon is insane I cried when I finished it love your videos tho keep up the good work

I accidentally found out that hornet can be BREEZED through if you just walk up to her and spam melee with quick slash equipped. will hardly ever have to dodge and it drains her health in like 2 minutes

I have 120+ hours into a save, a steel soul run, the plat trophy and I haven't done Everything there is to do.I have beaten all the bosses in the highest difficulty (radiant I think) and have completed pantheons 1,2 and 3 with all bindings.I have tried to do the 4th a lot of times and never even dared to attempt the 5th cause I know I am not there yet but for some reason I always find myself trying again and again.I really like the unnecessary difficulty that the game provides and for that reason I don't mind the glitch use as long as the person doesn't brag about it to others.i also like how the video is structured and gives players like me to experience the game again through someone that's new to it

Damn, I remember the first playthrough. All bosses seemed so hard. I have played the game a couple times and im still amazed by how hard some bosses were to me the first time. Amazing game. Edit: By the way, I get it, on my fist playthrough I did the glitch for the last pantheon as weel. It was painfull but I just couldn´t and wanted to get over it. On my third playthrough a year later I actually attempted again, and after like 2 weeks I finally did it. Incredible, such joy, but is something that as much as I like the game, I don't want to ever try again hahaha. Really hope there isn´t a similar trophy in Silksong. Is weird, because its a unique experience, and I imagine they will add something similar to silksong, I just hope that it isn´t a trophy, which seems unlikely. And most likely we won´t have a glitch either. Which I kind of like, because allthough is a single player game and one can choose not to use the glitch in Hollow Knight, when you just can´t do it, the trophy just fills better.

This is one of my favorite games by far, it's cool to see someone else playing it and getting the achievements. Though you should probably stay away from the steam version since you have to 100% the game without dying ONCE to get a single achievement. As well as there's 63 total steam achievements so... I'd love to see a video on that though >=]
