I feel like godmaster was pretty much dlc. Normally a whole new mode and endings would have you pay €10 and see it as something separated from the base experience. The boss rush mode was basically just a part of the game hidden away behind a secret sort of area as if it's already part of the game.

The worst part about this is their radio silence about this. Even when bad things happen, losing your drive to work on a game, or a team member ending up dead because of disease, accidents, or whatever happened, all of these can happen, and it is sad if it did happen. However it's also the responsebility of Team Cherry to be transparent about it, and talk about what happened what caused the delay of the game. People can be understanding but letting them wait on a game that might or might never come out is an awful thing to do. What this also causes, is people to suspect that Silksong got internally cancelled and Team Cherry uses the movement of the fans by being silent about it, and people waiting for the release, and out of desperation, play Hollow Knight, which comes to the suspicion that they are artificially creating a want to play more Hollow Knight than usual. Again, these are hypotheticals, that doesn't mean it's cancelled or they are actually doing that. However, what else can we do but suspect? When we ask, Team Cherry says nothing, and It's been going on for five years; and this isn't a good look for Team Cherry, and can actually harm them in the future. Let's assume a hypothetical future where Silksong came out, let's say it's 2026, and Silksong has been released in 2025, if they talk about a DLC for Silksong or a complete new game, people are less likely to trust Team Cherry at this point. This stigmatization is what they have created to themselves and it'll follow them until they fix it themselves, they got nobody but themselves to blame for something that is easily avoidable by just communicating like a normal human being instead of just being silent.

There is no reason to think anything bad happened. They just ended up being more ambitious with their own game than they expected(they've said so themselves, several times), and since this time they don't have to worry about running out of money, they don't have to release it in an unfinished state. Btw, that's the reason why the ''DLC'' for the og Hollow Knight were free. Because, from the point of view of Team Cherry, the game was not done. And even then they weren't entirely satisfied with how HK ended up. Just two months ago, a tweet confirmed that they're still working hard on this game, and that no, it's not cancelled, and no, nothing went catastrophically wrong.

@@legrandliseurtri7495 The problem with that is, it's easy to say "Yes, were still working on it. No, it's not cancelled or dead". A handful of games did that and ended up never releasing or be cancelled months later. I don't remember where it was but Silksong had a PR Nightmare recently in one of the Game shows (Correct me if I miss-remember), where one of their PR people said the game is still in development. On one side it sounds good, on other side it sounds like it's in development hell, since it's been five years at that point. The reason I say internal cancellation for it is because 90% of the games who ended up going through that, not releasing past five years or even ten, ended up cancelled internally. Sure, there are a few games that released 10-15 or even 20 years later, but five years is half a decade. For all I know, Team Cherry could pull the rug under me and surprise me with a sudden release of Silksong lol - But right now it looks like an internal cancellation. Emphasis on looks like. We got a sequel, and it ended on a cliffhanger, and I'm still waiting, 13 years later, on their promised third game of the trilogy. Well, they cancelled it after 8 years of waiting without any words except "Yeah, we're still working on it"

You wanna know how to stop AAA companies like Activision and Ubisoft from being fucking greedy assholes? DON’T BUY THEIR GAMES! Simple as that... ...actually, no! In order for these companies to start doing what you want them to do, EVERYBODY needs to avoid their games at ALL costs. E.g. the play-testers started at the start of 2023 or we wanted to add an area that was like an ocean that matched the size of earth which started in 3139.

Hey it's me again, letting a comment here but more as a message tp be let here then a type of like catcher. Silksong maybe is near, as we all know of the xbox release window, and damn it was fun. The memes, the jokes, the stress ( can't forget about the many events i watched for nothing lol ) but still, i'm happy with that, it shows that we love this game and we're waiting everyday with the hype. Even if i don't like much the silence of TC, i'm fine with that, I mean they're like 3 people making a gigantic game, i prefer them developing the game ( in a healthy way, without spending like 18 hours on it ) then everyday posting some blogs, because tbh i really don't want to get any spoilers, i will surely explore everything in the game, talk with everyone, i mean i waited so long for this game and it's going to be a once in a lifetime experience for me atleast. Just, want to thank TC gor everything and man i will miss the waiting and the Hollow Knight universe...it will be sad to see it end one day and maybe even on silksong, but we all know every game needs to end at some point, so i'm going to have fun and enjoy every moment while i play it, and even post my first playthrough on my channel even if i got like 20 fps because i want to keep it there as a memory. games never use more than a few hundred million dollars to be made thing is, big companies either want to satisfy their investors (if they are public) by being extremely greedy, or they want to profit from those hundreds of millions used. its 99% of the time the first one though. i do agree that ari, william and chris have done an amazing job with hollow knight and hope that ari, william, chris and jack do even better with silksong.

I played through Hollow Knight with my girlfriend last year and we were both blown away by it. It was one of the first things we got to bond over in person after being long-distance for a while. Today I'm flying down to visit her again and I'm incredibly excited to show her this trailer - The timing couldn't have been better! Anyway, I just wanted to thank y'all for making such an incredible game, being so devoted to improving your craft and adding content, and continuing to produce these immersive, charming, and beautiful experiences. Hollow Knight was a pivotal experience in my life for a variety of reasons and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I'd be willing to bet that Silksong will have the exact same effect on me
