I really think this comic does a flawless job of cementing the state the world is in where everyone sees Nikkes as nothing but war machines rather than cute girls like we do. When in reality, internally, they're the exact same as us.

Part of me still hopes that era_sub's ongoing story about Claude and his squad is officially recognized as part of the greater world of NIKKE. It's so good... SO GOOD!

Honestly I truly hope that this game can garner a bigger fan base so graphics like these drawn from the game directly can happen. This and the lore itself is what makes it more than a waifu simulator.

With how some of the events can be, it's hard to remember that the setting of Nikke is in a post apocalyptic war with humans desperately trying to repel am alien invasion

As a lore nerd, I'm surprised this didn't catch my attention sooner. Its interesting Rachel Hope's (admittedly short) backstory is used to springboard this, but I like it. Thanks for exposing me to this.

A real hit in the feels with this one. Love the art and story. You as morbid as it is, I'd like to see a story of Nikke before well... the Nikke. To see the apocalyptic level of carnage and destruction. Seeing the traditional miliraries of the world utterly powerless to stop the Raptures. Before the desperate move to creating female superweapons. How many men - and boys - were sent in their deaths in the goddamn millions in order to slow down what would've felt like mankinds extinction. How would the last professional soldier feel seeing the first Nikke on the field? Would he have weeped, seeing mankinds salvation? Would he have cursed her for not coming fast enough? Or would he simply feel numb? Seeing her as the next sacrificial lamb, just as he and his now dead brothers-in-arms now were. I dunno, just a thought.

That’ll be so cool, I’m also interested in seeing the world when raptures took over and there no nikkes. Especially what happened to the people who couldn’t get into the ark.

@@couch_protaytoe4342 If I were to hazard a guess, it would've been a combination of the original Terminator movie mixed with War of the Worlds. It would've been an extinction-level event with levels of destruction never before seen. The issue is that the timing of the game and lore are... conflicting. With what we've seen of the Raptures, they can cause tremendous destruction. Able to melt holes into several skyscrapers at once. On the other hand, something as ambitious as the Ark would have to take several years - if not decades - to construct, even with near-future tech. So either mankind could slow down the Raptures. With a few pyrrhic victories, very much akin to Halo, or there weren't many Raptures, to begin with, it became a slow, inevitable, grinding attrition. But I digress. I would suspect nearly everyone who hadn't made it to the Ark are. While a lucky few - perhaps a pocket or two - had managed to survive the initial apocalypse. Either as travelling nomads or pockets deep within the mountains where abandoned mines could be used as shelters.

I feel like the male population being decimated by an apocalyptic war, thus forcing the powers that be to rely on the young and working age females and potentially even girls to develop an advanced supersoilder program based on unknown and potentially anomalous technology, and then having those women and girls broken down into inhuman monstrosities of machine and flesh made one, all while being nothing more but estogenated cannon fodder variants of their unaugmented male counterparts sounds like something from the grim darkness of the 41st millennium than a waifu Mobil game

Unfortunately the probabilities of a normal person to become a goddess tier nikke is the gacha rate itself "1%". Candidates for the goddess squad also known as suiters were single handedly picked by researchers. Their brain have to met some kind of requirements in order for them to bear the pressure of their gears and body modification So unless they come to u and say "congratulation you're qualified to become a goddess"( still sound sussy asf) or ur probably be end up like rachel

That's striking how depersonalized they are. Just a number and cold bureaucratic terms like "scrapped" or "disposed". And nothing behind. Was she executed for any kind of offence or misbehavior, or what her Commander or Syuen considered that? Or maybe she was corrupted? Or simply was killed in her first battle? Was her commander just incompetent fool who sent her to her desth? Or were they just horrendously outnumbered and outclassed? Doesn't matter. No military honors, no funerals, no tombstone to put flowers on. Just recycling a cybernetic body for spare parts for others Nikkes.
