I wish more survival horror games would do this. I remember it being so immersive and really built the tension to not know exactly how much ammo you had left. It made every shot feel so valuable.

I remember it very similarly , I and everyone I knew thought it looked absolutely stunning graphically and the one game that felt like playing a next gen game (the X360 had released very recently) on the ol reliable Ps2. Me and my brother together probably played the entire camp over 50 times

It's a licensed game, so the rights for this stuff are probably in a complicated state. Just the film rights are probably split between whoever owns the original novel's right, Universal (i.e. Comcast now) and Peter Jackson's WingNut company.

I just went threw a Really hard loss in my Life so I Really hope you see this comment so you can know how much THIS particular playthrough means to ME. This game WAS My only childhood for many years growing up I only had access to THIS Game for when I wanted to have some fun or forget about life’s troubles, I’d LITERALLY just memorize every line every spot I can die and every way to beat a Boss or a specific part of a level, and since I’m currently going threw something tough that was RALLY Really dragging me down there to the point I’d thought about ending it I was getting so lost. THIS Playthrough popping up on your channel tho(my favorite KZbinr) this has brought me to remember where I came from and what life can be in simpler times.. Even though the graphics looked more realistic on Xbox 360 the characters were more expressive in the Gamecube/PS2 version. The human characters actually look more look the actors they were modelled after.

It’s crazy seeing you play this so swiftly, when I was 8/9 years old I was on the first raptors encounter hiding behind the rocks afraid to come out 😂 loved this game so much I even got it for the gameboy. Running from the T. rex and hiding in the hole, I was holding the joystick back so hard fearing that mofo was gonna grab me. Ann being grabbed and taken away again!! My go to snack was the bit sized cheezits

I played this game religiously as a kid. Fun fact: The Rexes have like 3 different finishers depending on what you do once you're down. While you *Can* kill them with just punches, speedruns require you to learn Kong's moveset and pretty much stunlock them or die trying. Alternatively you can still spam the normal punches as long as you can position yourself to trigger fury mode. There's also enemy variants in the original ps2 version, like there's a smaller black version of the centipedes that attacks way faster and takes two more spear hits to kill. This game really is phenomenal.
