The brontosaurus level gave me fucking PTSD as a kid, the tension and suspense as well the abject terror of both dodging the brontos and avoiding the raptors is so well done. The ending where everything goes silent and even the raptor start running because the Giant Trex is on its way. Brilliant game design.

The way the voice acting and the atmosphere come together is awesome. Creeping alone through a dark cave with the only audible noise being water droplets hitting the cave floor and Jack’s ragged, terrified breathing. I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

I’m 28 now and had this when it first came out on ps2 and I’ve spent hundreds of hours playing it. The mechanics this game had back then we’re mind blowing at the time and the different play styles mixed with the voice acting and setting brought everything together perfectly. I’d cash out for a modern remaster for sure. I also loved the cheat cods KKTGun with god mode was cool to use while taking on the vrex’s

Animations are absolutely solid from the gunplay to spearing enemies, atmosphere could switch from peak action to horror setting on a dime. Two things I really liked about the game. Firstly, the game doesn't tell you how much ammo you have. Jack has to check and tell the player. More realistic and it could cost you dearly if you didn't check for a while or forgot. Secondly, is the aspect of the food chain. Few games implement it as well as it is done here.

Normally tie-in video games are not done very well but this one is among the few that are great, managing to strike a balance between being faithful to the movie and being its own thing. Plus, it's just so much fun to play with going back between Jack and Kong. One is pretty much survival, and the other is pure fun of destruction. I remember playing this in 2005 and having so much fun. I really wish I had known about the bonus mission where you get to aid Kong in a plane during the final mission.

I still remember playing the Xbox 360 demo in my Toys R' Us. Fighting the Trex in that small arena was such an experience for 2005. I love this game.

One of my favorite games as kid, it used to genuinely scare me at times. Exploring what felt like endless levels of that jungle with new encounters at every turn was the highlight of my day. I loved the soundtrack, loved the immersion, played it all the way through countless times. All the extras and unlockable content made it all the more enjoyable. I remember one day I beat the game and unlocked an alternate ending and my mind was blown. I wasn't aware of all the extra content, so I played it again and again to see what else I could find. I also loved the idea that a movie game could be so damn good. I always put this game up there with the Spider-Man 2 movie game... two formative gaming experiences in my life (and clearly many others').

This is honestly a great game. If this got a remaster with fully updated textures, atmospheric shading and lighting and some other little tweaks it would still be an incredible game today almost 20 years after the movie came out. The game holds up so well as it's own thing.
