The rise of Darkrai is without a doubt the best Sinnoh region movie. This theme always struck my heart and soul. It has an almost haunting, lost love and nostalgic tone to it that went well alongside the story. I haven't watched it for a long time, but this piece of music always makes me tear up when i hear it. Reading that quote while listening gave me chills. Pokémon has so much to teach us about loving eachother, how everyone has a place in this world, and deserves love and a chance to be themselves. That’s what this song speaks to me anyways. I haven’t seen the movie in ages, but I do remember that scene.

@@ZoeyAlexandria back when i wrote this my life was pretty much at the lowest point for me, having lost my girlfriend who isnt here anymore and having no one else left. I kept coming back to this cover though. A lot of times. Last year (2021) i finally came to terms to who i am and how to accept myself, since i managed that, i found my place, my friends who are now family and who accept me for who i am. This cover and pokemon, as childish as it sounds, will always remind me of this journey from the lowest to my highest point yet, right now, in my life. Im so thankful for music and stories like these.

I've always imagined this song as a love letter from a time before writing existed. Something so emotional it describes an unending and tender love that's so powerful it breaks down the tallest towers, even time. Maybe that's why all the Pokemon are so soothed by it. It's a prayer for that love to live in all of us.

Don’t know if you’ll see this, but my goodness… you have quite the gift! This song is already moving given the context from Pokèmon: The Rise of Darkrai, but there’s another story I hold very dear. The ending is rather bittersweet, and I didn’t know if I could ever get it down in music. Your performance on the piano absolutely sold it and moved me to tears (I already sob with Pokèmon, now one of my other favourite stories).
