I'm actually surprised that Mark would even say sorry. 17 years ago, he didn't show any remorse and was threatening Luke in court that he would ruin his life. Good to see Mandy finally know the reason behind Luke's drinking. It's awful that he missed saying goodbye to his father because of the rape trauma.

She knew he was raped, yes. Having been raped by her own father, Mandy was the first one to offer Luke support 17 years ago, even though it was awkward because she was dating Darren. However, for some reason, this time around, the writers chose to not have Mandy figure out why he was drinking. I was annoyed, because Mandy of ALL people should have figured it out.

For the first time in 17 years Mandy was genuinely there for Luke wen he really needed her by his side. GOSH I think we all have been waiting 17 long years for this moment and 'Aawww' she gave him a big tight hug and finally knows the reason behind his alcoholism. I always found that Mandy & Luke are soul mates both have amazing chemistry level and most importantly both went through similar horrifying traumatic experiences in their past. Therefore both of them can feel each other's pain, understand each other's pain. I've also realised that Mandy has been with tony, warren, Darren, Ben, etc but has never loved them to the extent that the way she loved Luke and still does the feelings the love for Luke was always a different type of love from her it was sooooo much that she can't bear to be without him. However Gary Lucy's aka Luke acting was phenomenal tonight the confrontation with his rapist after 17 yrs and his high of emotions.

Gary Lucy is a phenomenal actor he should have won so many awards for his portrayal as Luke and the male rape storyline, I don't think any other soap had done such a storyline at the time it was like taboo and no one wanted to touch it but they did and everyone involved did a fantastic job with it

Being raped fucks you up. I've been sexually assaulted 4 times, and I'm still haunted by it. I've been sexually assaulted by two other students in the school bathroom at 14, having rocks thrown at my head after I reported them to the school (who did nothing but blame me and talk to them), by a cousin at 16, drugged and raped by a friend at 20, and locked in a basement and raped at 23. I could've died or got an std.... The pain you feel everyday can be unbearable. I have nightmares all the time, have ptsd, and I tried killing myself 3 times because I got so depressed. And I get so angry over nothing,, which I hate because I used to be so laid back and mellow. They not only violated you, but they steal something from you that you'll never get back. They get to live their life as if nothing happened, while you get locked in a prison and normally blamed as if you're the one who did something wrong. And abusers always say it was in the past in an attempt to deny the damage they've caused.

Nope, not everyone. I would argue that there are just certain crimes committed that do not warrant even the thought of a second chance. I definantly would not say this to a child that has been raped and sexually abused by a parent. Or the family of a victim of a serial killer. Seriously? No! Not everyone deserves a second chance.
