Is it really about protecting the children for Breda? From what I've seen of her character it appears she just had a bitter resentment towards any men who have done questionable things - probably stemming from her abuse by her father and Goldie's step father. She murders Carl and Russ to "protect" Max and Bobby but she is nowhere to be seen when a coked up Mercedes is bringing gangsters and other strange men into the family home. No mention of how Mercedes sold Bobby for hard cash when he was just a baby either. Surely if she wants to protect the children Mercedes should be her primary target. Russ may have done some bad things in his last month on the show but overall he was a decent human being and a good father to Max and was pushed to the edge by Mercy. Then she murders Louis because he wants to be with Simone instead of Leela so her solution is to kill him and now she's dumping Daniel on Lisa while she's working - maybe Lisa will ask her gangster boyfriend to babysit for her. And another thing, how can she judge Louis for playing away and breaking up a family when only a few months ago she was encouraging Sylver to go for it with Mercedes when she was with Russ - she basically was telling her own son to break up a family. Fun character and the actress is decent but her motives make little sense.

Breda kills because it makes her feel powerful and in control, same reason she both manipulates to get people together, and even leave helpless little Daniel inside Price Slice, hoping Lisa will look after him. All of it is to make herself feel good. The claim she is doing it for the kids, is just fake justification. By killing the fathers she deprives the various kids of much more than she saves them from.

@@marian3nene45 For some storylines of a comedic nature, maybe. But not when you mix it up with serious topics or whodunits. Having an ironic storyline like the one with Breda run side by side with the more reflecting real life one grooming storyline, I feel to be in bad taste. What if the the hurt, fear, shame and difficulties to cope with life Brody, Ollie and Imran expereinced, had been treated with the same sarcastic approach as the Breda serial killer storyline is being penned and played out? And Buster had been depicted as this cool kind of guy who seduced young boys left right and center. There was no mention about it being abuse, nor where they shown to not enjoying the experience, that is how extreme it is to suggest Breda by killing fathers is helping the children of those fathers. And when I see how many viewers who idolizes Breda I am seriously worried to which extent this storyline desensities them into thinking taking lives not only to be okay in some circumstances, but that those who do are kind of cool. And as a consequence could be inspired to do something similar.

@@aall8630 yup, Breda killed Sylver's dad and "adopted" him. His name was Peter but Breda re-named him Sylvester afterwards. It was only after Sylver was gonna go to jail for Goldie (when Mercy set up Goldie for killing Russ) but Breda stopped him and told him that news that she adopted him. Plus, it cleverly leads the way for Mercy and Sylver together since they aren't blood related (a little too convenient, eh? 😂)
