You have a point here. The police officers are pretty incompetent anyway here but I would be angry aswell when everything is so messy. I don´t think that the producers care about what the viewers want. They only care about messing up things and not making anything realistic. There always must be strange twists and turns for the sake of it (soap opera) regardless if it is good storytelling or not.

@@stvp68 Yes, I think the producers mess this up too much. It doesn´t make sense that JP would miss George but just being sorry and in shock for all the things that have happened. Also understanding that Sally hit George in the head because of self-defense for Theresa. If someone is violent and manipulative, your instinct tells you to get as far away as possible from that person instead of confronting him or her. Even if Theresa is a bit stupid, it doesn´t make sense that she would do such a thing.

In the eyes of the law it may be something different but that is what happened. Ella was defending Charlie and had NOT the INTENT to kill him. I also think that the intent was to hit George in the head so he would stop threatening both of them and was a survival instinct as Sally knew about George and him threatening her in the past that made her afraid and cried. She didn´t think that he was going to die. Theresa was stupid to run to him as she did not realize how dangerous he was and Sally ran after her to protect her.

@yeah up yours too buddy In court in real life, they must prove that Sally had the INTENT to murder him which she did not have. People do wrong things in the heat of the moment which happened here. Sally did not plan to kill George but both Theresa and Sally did the wrong thing to ran after George. They should have called the police to tell them exactly what happened and that George was about to leave the village and the way he had abused JP regardless of he himself was a policeman or not. The problem is that Sally and Theresa lies to the police which make their work more difficult and that is not good for the outcome. If Sally had told the police at once that she hit George in the head in order to protect Theresa, they would understand that it was self-defense or maybe manslaughter but MURDER, NO. Hollyoaks is a soap and they do not always make things realistic.
