Fun fact: The mayor of tsushima awarded the game director of this game as the ambassador of their island knowing how he embraced the Japanese culture and it's beauty despite being from the West, Unlike AC shadows, they're just doing it to tick boxes for the sake of their agenda and don't care about their Japanese culture and disrespecting their heritage, What Ubisoft is doing is pandering while sucker punch is honoring and respecting it.

Because in May 2024 the long-awaited PC version finally came onto the market and so a large number of new players have been won or can be won and of course they first have to be excited by advertising and videos like this. Playstation players have of course long since left this phase behind when the original game version was first puiblished in 2020 for PS4 and 2021 for PS5.

Hijikata Toshi did a wonderful job voicing Jin that I still remember that cry Jin made with his uncle in his dying arms. This is the second most emotional scene I got into a video game, next to FFXV's last camp scene and Noct's ascension..

I have also read that this samurai code of honor glorified in films and games is more of a myth and does not correspond to the reality of the time, because the samurai also were "just" special trained soldiers who wanted to be victorious by any means necessary.

@@MrJueKa That's the whole reason the Shinsengumi were murdered after the Shogun were done using the peasants as replacement militia after the Shogun and samurai clans were appaulled by how easily overwhelmed they were by portuguese and foreign gunpower. Ronin like Miyamoto Musashi had a strong foundation of doing whatever it takes to win, which probably inspired Jin's Ghost persona while Royal Samurai like Sasaki Kojiro were the ref for his Jin identity. Blood or Ideals? Entitlement or Justice? That's what this game brings to the table.

Are you sure? I figured it was "Tsu" rather than it being "su" or "tu". I'm pretty sure we don't have the sound "Ts" in English so people just pronounce it as "Su" instead. It's like how other languages don't have "sh" as a pronunciation.

Its just Tsushima... you pronounce the Tsu by basically putting the tip of your tongue right behind your top teeth and then saying su... when you try it shouldn't sound like su but rather you should hear a small T sound. Although its hard to describe just using text lol

Love Ghost always wanted a grounded Samurai game. But last or us 2 has really Top Notch Ai, Physics animations, Mocap, Motion matching, a good stealth system and a story that has not really been done in gaming were you play as two sides who are neither right or Wrong.

Hollywood isn't competing with a lot of Playstation exclusives currently. Even when Hollywood attempts to remake the exclusives in live action, they still aren't competing. God of War deserves multiple Oscars.

Yes the game is really good. But if you think Hollywood can't compete you have no clue what movies that are released every year. You get at least 3 to 5 movies like this every year. In fact the entire game takes story beats from allot of renown movies. The opening seen is directly taken from a movie called Harakiri from 1962.

Ehhh I don't know. It is a truly amazing game. I played it last week for the first time and am now on my second playthrough. I really love the gameplay and gameworld. I wouldn't give it any oscar for its story though. Stories and characters in games are (almost) never on the same level as great novels, movies and series imo.

Game narratives that include "just put the controller down and shut off the game" never works. Especially in rail shooters like Spec Ops: The Line. Perhaps aborting a questionable side quest is possible but you paid for the game and want to play the game. It's dirty.

It's a great game that I had tons of fun with, but imo, the story isn't uniquely impressive. It's very competent writing, and the game design is basically an optimisation of the AC/Ubisoft formula, but it's not remotely groundbreaking imo.
