I just saw an interview where Bill said it was scripted and this is actual from rehearsal. When he did the spit take live, he missed and no one laughed. So it ruined the sketch and they played the one from rehearsal instead.

There's another interview with a Hollywood celebrity. And their routine is pretty much the same. Then Bill spits his drink (again?) at Kristen and I laughed. But maybe that interview came before this one because in this one it looks like Bill was trying to top the amount of liquids deposited on Kristen.
