There are many accents in California, tho. Its a big state. You could fit several European countries inside of it. This particular accent is like a version of the posh accent used in England. However, in California its mostly used by white people from the valley (which is why most of the characters are blonde - which is merely a stereotype). That also explains why they are so obsessed with taking the quickest route to their destinations because they usually live outside the urban areas.

In Puerto Rico, the funniest, most popular nighttime TV show happens to be a skit show where they always break character and lose it in front of a live audience. It's funnier to people. Sometimes, even someone from the audience says something outloud that makes the actors break, and when they can't avoid not laughing, the entire audience loses it in laughter. Because both the production team and the audience knows the boss who runs the show and also acts in it is a stickler and even him can't avoid breaking character, it has become a sport to try to make him laugh. When he breaks character, it's super funny to the audience and the other cast members, because it means they defeated him. He always looks at the camera and makes a "You got me!" face. These are reputable TV industry veterans with long decades of experience, yet they constantly start laughing mid-skit, sometimes having to improvise to be able to get to finish them. People love the authenticity. Being number 1 for over 20 years means that their formula works. They take their job seriously, but also embrace how the audience reacts when they break character. It's really low-budget sets and purposely bad writing, too. Nothing fancy like SNL. 😋

When its natural it makes it way funnier also when they have a funny laugh aha. Hader always has the best breaks lol But guys like Fallon can be annoying because it doesnt always come off as genuine and he seems like he tries to use it to get a laugh.

@@vlaskarountzos5803 Except when it doesn't. The show has some talent, but horrible writing. The only reason this Californians thing works is because they are clearly trying to make each other laugh, and that has to be mostly improvisation. They need to learn that less is more, and shorten as much as they can. I remember these Californian scenes going on way too long to the point they are not funny any more. Every generation saying the same thing is kind of meaningless, you might as well say everyone hates SNL.

@Karl E Paul ya the cast was great I never said otherwise but I don't think many people remember that they also struggled back then with the ratings. I think some people look back and just watch the best clips and think that Era was untouchable when in reality they had many misses like the modern and 2000s casts had, in which they get roasted for. That's just sketch comedy you miss more than u hit. But personally I just think the Hader, Armesian, Forte, Sudekis, Keenan, Wiig, Poehler, Ferrell, Samberg etc cast was better.

Yesterday I was trying to figure out why bridesmaids was such a good movie And I realize other than the original comedic scenes it’s because Kristen Wiig is an amazing actress
@urosmarjanovic6634 жыл бұрын
Nah, it was a good movie because of great and cathartic screenplay and also because of how actually Kristen's character was basically fucked-up. As we all basically are. Comedic parts, in my opinion, are really not the stronger part of the movie. Especially airplane scene... it was so underwhelming and wasted. Not even Kristen could pull that one right.
