@@kimromanski1061 Though a brilliant actor, artiste & novelist, Billie Dee speaks like an Idiot IN DENIAL of his BLACKness, as he’s shamefully displayed around younger folk & now world-wide. The man is supposed to know better, born B4 the Era of the Civil Rights Movement & lived thru the struggle of Blacks. When he accepted the BLACK FILMMAKER’S HALL OF FAME AWARD, he didn’t get up & say: “I’m NOT Black. I’m Brown!” Billy Dee is like Uncle Clarence Thomas, Tim Scott, OJ & others IN DENIAL & that’s EMBARRASSING to SANE BLACKS. Blacks who came before the aforementioned, paved the way for them 2B all they could be. There were no SHADES of skin singled out to make a difference. ONLY racists & those who look UP to racists, make a difference in our skin tones. And we certainly have a few in the BLACK Race who enshrine the racists views, aka COLOR STRUCK; selling their souls~just to be accepted BY racists. After all, Billy Dee & the aforementioned are Trumplicans.

In all of his 86 years on the Planet & AFTER having lived thru the trials & tribulations of BLACKS (NO MATTER WHAT fkn SHADE, Bitchez!) struggle & fight for Human/Civil Rights, Billie Dee can only arrive at: I’m NOT a Black man. I’m a Brown man. A spit in the face @those thru-out history, who fought for Mr. Arrogantazz to BE a PROUD BLACK Man with Rights. Sorry kids, NOTHING SMART here on THAT subject. Sad to see him drown in cognitive dissonance. He knows better BUT, he’s got witnesses now~that he knows nothing after all these years.

I lost respect for him just before he was in Star Wars, since he first said he “wasn’t Black”~years ago. The nerve of him & the arrogance that he stood on those BLACK shoulders that paved the way for him. His career is just a career, applaudable, of course. But NO APPLAUSE for the “Color Struck” shallow man, who is just a a shell. He’s lived to be 87~ONLY to LOSE his soul.

Because when you OWN your blackness, it says a lot about you, and how you feel about your race. ALL those blacks that called them selves BROWN are ass kissers, boot lickers. Check them out. They wish that they were white, everyday that they see their reflection. You can see the sadness in their face. They all have the same smiley pain looking, grin, trying to look happy, in fooling themselves, but they are not.

If race is discussed, and a person is white, then that would be mentioned. I have read his book and heard him speak elsewhere. So I knew he does not like to be described as “black”, because he has brown skin. This is an important, personal description about himself. Clearly , these supposed professional tv hosts and interviewers had done little or no research about the man, or they would not have made such a verbal blunder!

@@ront3136, Catch up with Civil Rights History, Young’un. The “I’M BLACK AND I’M PROUD” was our Mantra of SELF-ACCEPTANCE in the days of fighting FOR our Human Rights AS Americans during the Historical Civil Rights Era. IF you were homeschooled OR attended schools in Red States, your history books & your parents were remiss in teaching you this American History in full content. Racist Whites DENIED Blacks their inherent Rghts & DISCRIMINATED against Blacks, bc of Color~NO MATTER WHAT SHADE. Not only were ppl of African Decent discriminated against~but THE FIRST AMERICANS~NATIVE, Indigenous Americans, Asian Americans & more! Blacks grew into the ACCEPTANCE & PRIDE of BEING BLACK, which had been STRIPPED from~SINCE Slavery. This became the “norm”. Until Black Historical leaders championed our government into ENACTING CIVIL RIGHTS. So your facetious statement of being WHITE AND PROUD was NEVER an issue. Whites already we’re exercising their Constitutional Rights WHILE DISCRIMINATING upon NON-Whites. It was only a problem WHEN BLACKS stood up & FOUGHT to CHANGE LAWS to ENABLE our Rights & when we OWNED OUR BLACK PRIDE, this caused disarray amongst your White ancestors back then~and ‘til THIS DAY. LEARN UP, Young’un!

I was brought up on Billie Dee Williams' Movies, Brians Song was one of my All-Time favorites. My mother had a huge thing for him, she always said she found him most Handsome and Alluring. My dad was a little jealous of it, LOL, but he was also a huge fan of his probably cause he was a Star Wars Junkie! Billie Dee Williams was never considered a Black actor in my family, he was seen as one of the most Brilliant, Mesmerizing, Articulate, Amazing Actors of his generation. Sunny and the View Crew really need to stop putting a label of "Color" on Everybody and Everything just to cause hatred among people and to stir up more racial idealizations which I believe are only in the minds of a very few ignorant people these days. Thank God Billie Dee is way too smart for them and didn't fall under that narrative. I Love this man even more for it!!

I totally agree with Billy Dee Williams there are no such people as Black people nor are there white people we were made from the dust of the Earth. Every single person is a hue of brown whether they’re not aware of it or not… Fair skin brown, dark skin brown , bleached brown enriched very dark brown. Everyone has their own culture with wherever they were born and raised. All people who are color are not the same culture just like all people who are considered Anglo are not the same culture, but we are all human and we all our children of God.

I don't BDW, who am I to judge. The trend is, that nonsense and BS is everywhere 24/7.

What’s wrong with being called Black when you’re clearly BLACK? Black people comes in all shades ( we see this in our families) but the color “Black” is just a description. Black peoples have no problem calling White peoples “White” (although they prefer to be called “Caucasian) because they have white or pale skin. He seemed very offensive and annoyed about nothing.

Sunny is right. Why was he upset about being called black or brown? He is full of it.

Upset, really? Ms. Hostin wasn't right about anything. He wasn't upset at all. The ONLY thing he did and it's his right to do so. Was clarify his own personal position, about how he sees himself. That's integrity! That's strength! That's class! That's Billy Dee Williams! End of story!
