They're praising marriage because with low marriage rates means less divorces. They're just trying to pump up the divorce numbers back, for that you need marriages...... This is a disguise celebration for alimony, not marriage. Too many men caught on, so they're trying to make it cool again. Leonardo DiCaprio ain't falling for it. 😎

This is beyond true! Marriage is the best thing I have ever done! People always talk about getting out of the "honeymoon" stage and marriage being so hard, wishing you were single, only feeling obligated to stay with your spouse because you don't want to fail, etc. and it's all nonsense. I literally tell my husband every day how much better life is because he's in it. Even the boring moments are better because he's in them. My life is 100% better married than it ever was single. And when God decides to bless us with kids, it is only going to add to the awesome life we have :)

My parents are celebrating the wedding anniversary that marks being married to each other for half of their lives today! They’ve been wonderful parents to me and to my siblings, wonderful spouses to each other, and devoted servants of God the whole time. A good marriage makes you happier, helps you live longer, and has financial benefits. The only problem is finding a good person to marry, this is hard but is made hugely easier by not rushing to getting physical and cheapening the relationship, value finding someone you really like as a person more than finding someone you merely find attractive.

The whole responsibility/harder working aspect of why married men make more money is true, but it also changes your whole decision making paradigm. Every decision has an undercurrent of "How will this impact my family?" and not just me. This ultimately leads to better decision making which leads to better results.

I just hope that when I marry, I'm as happy as this - and that I, too, can manage to better myself (and my husband himself). Plus, it's honestly a wonderful that she found him at a semi-young age (less than 30 years old), and that she's really putting it out there publicly that they love each other and that marriage is a wonderful thing. So amazing for her and again, hope I (and many others who are willing to sacrifice independence for a family and to settle down) get the same type of fulfilling marriage that she achieved.

Marriage stats are more correlation than causation. I hypothesize that people prone marriage and following traditional social norms are also the more obedient types who will stay loyal to a company longer, thus more likely to get a promotion etc. Marriage doesn't CAUSE your increase in salary. People are able to take bigger risks when they are single. I couldn't imagine starting a business as a married person. I'd feel guilty taking that type of risk with someone else relying on me.

As a single man at the age of 30, I would love nothing more than to be married. If for no other reason than I don't want to die alone. But there is so much more to marriage and a relationship with another human. We do challenge each other; we live better because we want to be the best for our significant other. We grow not only emotionally and physically, but also mentally and spiritually when we live for someone other than ourselves. I don't remember who said it, but a person is not fully awakened until they are loved by another.

Thank you for making this video! I wouldn’t have known these ladies (both of whom I like but don’t follow close enough to have heard this) said anything to this sort and so love to hear it! Growing up with a single mom and all the married people I knew were not super happy or great examples, I was often conflicted about my desire to be married, but I figured that I’d probably get married in my thirties and I honestly have never had a strong biological urge for kids and have looooong thought I’d love to foster or adopt, so that never bothered me either. But as I got older and was exposed to more of society I kinda put those both on a back burner cause I should “figure out a career” and “be my own complete person” all that really messed with my head and has landed me in a weird place that I’m slowly but surely moving out of. Obviously it’s good to be self-sufficient but that has never been something I struggled with being able to ask for help, realize I can depend on people and build community and close knit relationships has been more of my struggle, so seeing more and more stuff encouraging the life I’m striving towards is great.

One reason people are skeptics/caution of marriage is that we all know a lot of people who got married in their 20s that ended in divorce and those people went through hell in divorce court. When I ask my guy friends what went wrong they usually blame it on getting married to young instead of the red pill nonsense of women don’t know how to cook, clean, give me sex whenever I want it, be submissive and etc. I have friends who are married with kids that encourage me to wait.

My parents made me never want to get married when I was younger because my dad always seemed to agitate my mom to the point where she would yell at him. Now I pray and hope that my marriage is like theirs. I see now how much they love each other, how much my dad adores my mom, and how my mom enjoys my dad's teasing. I just have to hope I find someone that makes me feel the way my parents did.

The idea of monogamy and loyalty is everything. Always been a hopeless romantic. Without it we are nothing. We are lonely, never learning never striving to be better. I’m about to turn 22 and by the time I’m 27 I definitely would love my first kid. I’ve always wanted a big family (although tough as hell in this day and age) there’s nothing without love and family.

Due to health issues, I may never be able to have children, but I have an incredible family (with many nieces and nephews) that makes my life better, and always want to strive to be better. I think your analysis missed on something. Based on interviews women prefer men with higher income than them. Besides the interviews, if you're familiar with the cost of the ring and wedding you know it's not cheap.

I disagree with the idea that men make that much more money just because they are married. Part of it is the need to make more money for a family but women also preselect for men with higher earning potential. By Brett's logic getting drafted for the NBA will make me taller and going to college will increase my IQ. Wrong, women choose the guy with the doctorate because he will out earn other men. Using statistics this way is misleading.

I wouldn’t call Margo Robbie completely traditional and a lot of couples are in similar situation. She got married at 26 but she is 33 with no kids. Either Margo doesn’t want kids, can’t have them, or putting it on hold due to her successful career. A lot of couples are not having babies. Some prefer pets, traveling, financial freedom, and a few others things than kids. couples that are having kids are doing it later and not having that many.
