The famous Hollywood sign was changed to the Ramshouse after the Super Bowl win of the LA Rams it took them three days to finish changing the sign I was there every single day to show you what it look like I also went to the Hollywood lake and some other locations to show you around Hollywood

When I was a young Marine back in 1977, 78 Station At El Toro, I spent many a weekend hiking those hills, I even got to touch the Hollywood sign. all those fences were not there back then. I loved driving around in the area, If I were a wealthy man that is where I would be living today. Thank you for sharing your day trip there. 🙂

I was born and raised in Los Angeles until 2005 when I moved to Arizona and I never visited this place, I never visited alot of places in LA because I was scared of the gangs and violence. Being scared of all that stuff made me kind of an introvert and a hermit crab 🦀 but now I regret not enjoying my city, my home town.

AMAZING THE VIEWS DO YOU BROUGHT IN FROM AND AROUND THE HOLLYWOOD SIGN. Was great to see L.A. from there. Also, the Hollywood lake and surroundings were very well pictured. The bolts of lightnings, far away rain preps, and sky on fire were nice takes. Tks.

It's a nice place, I go there often when I'm in Los Angeles. I like the quiet and the view.I like to go early in the morning, it's especially nice when there's still fog on the coast and it's slowly dissipating!

Oh Mike I love you and your videos. You know this girl from Arizona watches everyone and I will say it's probably one of my favorite. I know your next question is why. Just a couple reasons 😉 of course T was with you, the hike up was funny when you stop and point out the things below it's amazing that you know so much about LA. My favorite is when you stand there facing the city with your arms open and yell I love LA. Just beautiful. Not someplace I would ever live but your love for the city is what makes your channel so great. By the way that "tree" you pointed out was a cactus and I'm pretty sure a century plant or definitely an agave but yes it looks like a cool tree. Hope to make it to Venice this spring sometime to see you. Until then be safe out there!

That concrete bowl that you thought collected water for Lake Hollywood is actually a debris basin. These basins were set up to catch debris like rocks and tree limbs that tumble down the steep hills from mudslides. My German MIL who was born in Essen was so thrilled to see one after she read about them in The New Yorker magazine.

Single tree 5:25 is an agave bloom stalk, they only bloom once then die, the stalk can last for years as they are quite sturdy, good for making didgeridoos. Green live agave around the old dead one. Tschuss

This was a really great video Mike. I lived in Long Beach when I was young (age 9 to 16). I got to go in a school field trip to the Griffith observatory and Universal studios when I was 12 years old, we also did a week long camping trip to Big Bear. Good memories. The scenery that you shot was amazing, especially that lightning strike. Great stuff Brother. I'm living in Northern California now but if I could afford to I would return to the south land in a heartbeat. Fair winds Brother, thanks for what you do.

It disappoints me to see smog once again over the LA basin. I thought that was a thing of the past ( I have not lived in LA since the 1970s, but have been back at least every other year). Yet, it seems to me lately when flying into LAX that the horizon in the late afternoons or early mornings is fairly clear, not smog clogged orange as I remember from my youth. And, as a child I can remember awful chest pain breathing outdoors when the smog was really bad in L.A. Thanks, GIV, for a tour of the hills around the Hollywood sign, which I have never hiked before. I'll place it on my list to do when I next visit L.A. Keep those videos coming. And yes, GO RAMS!
