*Small detail:* Johnny (Depp) looks like he’s playing a Gibson Explorer (guitar), but he’s not. It’s actually a 70s Ibanez Destroyer, before Ibanez changed the shape of the guitar to the one they still sell to this day. The guitar looks identical to the Korina explorers, which haven’t significantly changed in design since 1958, hence why Ibanez had to change the shape around ‘81. Because of legal reasons. You can see the Ibanez logo which was designed to emulate the Gibson one of the time between 0:59 and 1:00 on the left side of the screen. Ibanez used this logo on all their Gibson copies during the time Johnny’s guitar was made. From what I know, the guitar must be at least 39 years old as of the time this video was uploaded in 2019, it could be several years older. Not that anybody really cares, but I know a thing or two about guitars. If I got anything wrong, please let me know.

Mike Lane - Hendrix said that he played a right handed Strat (even though he was left handed) because he could reach the tremolo arm (whammy bar) half a second faster than on a left handed guitar. In reality, he just though it looked cool, and it became part of his gimmick. Although, Stevie Ray Vaughn used a correct right handed Strat, but changed the bridge to a left handed one so he could get to the tremolo arm faster.
