Hey guys, Coheed's entire discography is based off a science fiction story that the lead singer, Claudio wrote. That lyric video cut out the whole intro though! You guys should definitely go back and listen to the whole song at some point. Other great Coheed songs... The end complete, the final cut, the crowing, gravity's union, the gutter, the dark Sentencer, everything evil, in keeping secrets of silent earth: 3. They've got 10 studio albums so it's a major rabbit hole to go down!

@marshallburnett24342 жыл бұрын
@@grizzly7160 this new album is clearly focused on his son, Atlas. Embers of Fire has his son opening the album. The Vaxis arc is a new story built upon the Amory wars but I think Amory is about Claudio and Vaxis is about his son, Atlas.

people dismiss this band as this and as that ..the fact is they have an insane amount of variety in their music. They have pop songs, rocks songs, ballads, hard core metal tracks, progressive rock stuff, crazy electronic stuff, and all kinds of other stuff. They are literally one of my top couple of bands of all time. Tool will always be my number one, but these guys took the #2 spot several years ago, and they are absolutely mind blowing if you get into their deep catalogue.

Thank you Lloyd for introducing them to Coheed. One of my favorite things about them is Claudio's Geddy-esque vocals. Yeah like everyone has said there is a whole Sci fi universe the lead singer has made and this song is about one of the characters fighting a universal council which is the supremacy. One day hopefully there will be a movie or 2 babe coheed and cambria bc there is that much. So cool that you two related them to Rush. They're the modern day Rush! Been a fan of them for over 15 years and yall will be too!

So, I went to see them in Hollywood in 2017, this was just before they released Vaxis I: The Unheavenly Creatures. And I've been to A LOT of Rock Concerts, including Bands like System, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Weezer, The Offspring, essentially ALL of the Rock Genre. But none of those compared to my first Coheed and Cambria concert. Something to take in account with Coheed Songs is they are telling a story. And seeing Claudio not just sing but TELL US A STORY made that concert unforgettable. FOr the first like 5 songs, no one was Jumping around or going crazy. They stood and just watched Claudio.

Their progressive nature, syncopated rhythms and intense beautiful vocals showcase how talented they really are as musicians and songwriters. Excellent reaction definitely check out some of the older catalog. You will definitely be impressed. Otherwise there’s always volbeat, shotgun blues! React to it please! Dammit! Are you listening to me?! Enjoy your weekend guys. And thanks for doing what you do. But I’m not kidding about Volbeat, you’re gonna dig that song.

The song is a part of the story, (VAXIS 2 WINDOW OF THE WAKING MIND) where creature(father of vaxis) gets double crossed and gets beat down and the last minute activates the quitillian speaker (which he was transporting) and releases the...alien that was trapped inside and she rescues them kills the people beating the shit out of him. her name is Nianahsa...which is the name of the next song...RISE NIANASHA RISE! First line "hell wakes you up choking..." he gets knock out as he releases her. His son vaxis goes with her. Somehting like that. Look up my homegirl JJ Metalhead. she explains it perfectly!

This song is the first part of a 3 part triolgy of songs....it leads right into the next track "Rise, Nainasha(Cut The Cord)" Their songs are part of graphic novels Claudio writes so you can say its about 1 thing but its a call back to something that happened earlier on the album. The whole album is about the characters of Creature and Sister Spider and their comatose son, Vaxis...who has special powers of some kind

This may be covered already in another comment, but the singer Claudio Sanchez did write this based off of what happened to George Floyd and the subsequent civil unrest. Their song Dark Sentencer is about Trump and his fucked up response to Puerto Rico’s hurricane tragedy. They’re kinda low-key with their references, because as someone is sure to have said, the real life influences behind the music help them write a comic book series

What if you had someone on the podcast to discuss supremacy clause reform? Or opposition to PFFR happening in secret to uncircumcised children in America?
@NosyEyeMusic2 жыл бұрын
According to Claudio Sanchez (and the song descriptions he gave on Apple music), who wrote the song, he had been sitting on it for a while because he wasn't sure, where to go lyrically. Then when the whole George Floyd thing went down, it gave him some new perspectives (I assume anger about what happened to George and others in similar situations) and he explored that in this song. So while the song has its place in the sci-fi concept, the use of the word "supremacy", and the associations it gives, is definitely not coincidental. This is very much Coheed's entry in favour of the BLM movement.
