Hollywood - Woodstock 99 vs Woodstock 69......hmmmn think you are forgetting about Woodstock 94 which was far superior to 99. 1969 was about peace & love and can never be topped! 1999 was about PROFITS which brought about destruction and riots - exactly the opposite of the supposed concept. 1994 brought together generations with performers like Crosby Still & Nash, Bob Dylan, Allman Brothers, Santana, The Band, Joe Cocker with acts like Aerosmith, Paul Rogers, and Peter Gabriel. Then mixed in Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Primus, Green Day, Blind Melon, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Can't forget about Cypress Hill or Henry Rollins going all out in the rain. No-one talks about 1994 because nothing crazy happened. The fences came down night 1 and it became a free event - just like 69. Didn't witness even a single argument the entire weekend as the crowd was amazing and 1/2 covered in mud. I bought a ticket and it was the best $143 I ever spent!

Rage is too good. You need to deep dive some of the deep cuts lyrically. Freedom, Calm Like A Bomb, People of the Sun, Ghost of Tom Joad, the list goes on and on. They get more of a bump to the songs with repetitive hooks but they can tell a hell of a story if you give em a second.

While in terms of technical ability I think Floor is one of the greatest vocalists around and would smoke all competition, Zack has a passion like nobody else (especially in earlier performances). I think for his wild stage presence and passion behind his message I'd go for him. But they're also ridiculously different so it's tough.

I absolutely cannot stand Tom Morellow but you cannot deny his work with RATM was awesome. I was in my early 20s when they hit the scene. I installed car stereos (custom high end stuff) and I had a monster system and they were so bass heavy it was in my constant rotation with Pantera

What kills me inside is that the next generation and my generation/ majority does not know Rage Against the Machine. I have gotten most of their songs on speakers at BLM, anti-fascist, and anti-gun violence protest. People think it is new music or think at first this band is a right wing group. @@satanlaffing I guess my point is that despite it being easy for a 31 year guitar vet, Tom has pioneered this sound and is revered for his distortions. Perhaps the isolated sound is east to create. But making it sound awesome to the ears of millions is certainly not otherwise there’d be a plethora of really well known 31 year guitar vets playing for really well known bands. I guess it’s like saying that what Tom Brady does, in isolation ain’t that hard. I mean he’s just throwing a ball. Plenty of people can do that and there would be thousands who could competently hit a moving target while doing it. But, doing that while having a defensive line running at you and 60k screaming fans and millions watching on tv and still execute better than any other living quarterback? Well that’s what makes Brady, Brady.
