Hi friends. In Chacarita, at Gardel´s tomb, from time to time, some tourists place a lighten cigarette in his statue hands. I saw it burning when I visited the place. And, as a personal note, my mother who is 90 years old today is an absolute fan of Gardel, "the greatest singer of all the times". She never goes by a week whithout listening some music he sang. Grettings from Brazil.
@edgechan9 ай бұрын
I was about to mention that, and in Chile we say "Gardel paid/tomorrow Gardel will pay us" due two theories: Gardel paid to the public to hear him sing when he wasn't too famous or he gave money to the poor people when he was famous. So that phrase means you got your salary or any plans to the future.
