One thing I really admire about Leo is that he never takes credit for just himself. Every compliment or every question he gets he finds a way to include everyone else involved in the project. In this video specifically he kept finding ways to include Jonah and make it known that this film was a partnership and that the two of them together made the film what it was. One of the greatest actors of all time and an incredible/humble man as well.

Lewis Joseph Cranston you are a troll to the highest degree to say he deserved an Oscar only once. That is a laughable statement and shows your bias. He was beyond Oscar worthy in Gilbert Grape, Aviator, catch me if you can, inception and wolf of Wall Street. You can prefer Day-Lewis who is also a genius but your stance on DiCaprio is woeful. He’s been the most consistent movie star of our era and is the definition of box office because all of his films deliver something.

Leo is fantastic but Brad would have been incredible. Both are the best actors of their generation with incredible journeys. Both are just class actors

@Model Chick I respect your opinion. Personally, I think you’re placing Leo on too high of a pedestal and Brad’s on equal footing with him in terms of the roles he does and the depth he has but I do agree that Leo is blessed with the better filmography and he did the role perfectly. Beyond the both of them though, I think Christian Bale is probably the best actor and on the same league w DDL. Every time I watch Wolf of Wall Street tho, I mainly enjoy it cuz of Leo’s performance

Needs are a human instinct. Greed, by definition, is an excessive desire to acquire wants. Many civilizations existed for long periods without greed, making the human nature argument invalid. A privileged, insular perspective can distort the difference between greed and needs.

self preservation maybe but avarice is about wanting more than you need it goes beyond ambition and it is at the cost of other peoples happiness of other peoples survival. With privilege comes responsibility, the more privilege you have the greater your responsibility. It is still the case that ego and greed, narcissism is the only thing that majority of billionaires and millionaires are beholden to. i speak of those who are shipping their money off to offshore bank accounts i speak of the corruption that those who have the ability to change lives change the world for the better choose instead a coarse of more "power" more wealth to take to their graves and what is this "power" when they have the finances but lack any emotional intelligence to actually make a better society. they have made their money because they arent beholden to a morality, exploitation of other people is a viable option. Dicaprio isnt one of them, he is doing great things for the environment and im sure he does a lot of work with charities but if you talk about survival and evolution, exploitation and oppression, it may be our history but in terms of our survival and our evolution it is not greed that binds us or helps us survive. after all it is 1% of the worlds richest people who own more than the other 99% of the world. i think this quote sounds as if hes saying "hey thats just our nature" when in fact empathy is innate to most even primal many of our animals have high empathetic capacities. i think its hard for any multi millionaire with a conscience even my man dicaprio to speak about greed without feeling guilty as to whether they are doing enough. im not doing enough im trying to take care of myself first i cant help anyone without being ok within myself. i think applying darwinism here suggests that the wealthiest are the fittest and sure when you are starving and poor leading to both physical and mental strain, you are not in a position safety, your quality of life is limited, you are fighting for survival. To suggest however that the 1% is the key to survival of our species the fittest is ridiculous avarice is crippling the success of the world as it always has and it is up to the people of privilege be it privilege of mind and those privileged to have financial security or wealth in abundance and a conscience to be aware and to take action.
@femioyekan81847 жыл бұрын
Doing something "in order to survive" has nothing to do with greed.
