I'd love to see the number-crunching on this operation...Bringing in a contractor with this huge set up is more cost effective than a farmer 'in-house' using his own 3 or 4 row harvester behind his tractor with a couple of accompanying trailers...??? Is growing beet now so price sensitive it's best to do the whole growing & cropping cycle with contractors...??? Great video btw 👌

Another great video - why does the harvester and trailer off-set, is it a ground compaction thing?

Yes, the load is spread across a larger width to reduce compaction as the machines are very heavy.

when do you plant the beets? we don't start planting in Ontario Canada until April.

In the uk we plant in March/April time, harvest them from September through to end of march

Does pulling the trailer at that angle make the tractor pull a bit sideways?

Not really as the tractor has lots of weight to it, and the trailer does still pull square

Beet don't look that big or they a variety that sits down in the soil ? What kinda yield were you getting ?

If I remember rightly, the beet were a fairly good size and yield around the 100 tonne mark
