I'd love to see the number-crunching on this operation...Bringing in a contractor with this huge set up is more cost effective than a farmer 'in-house' using his own 3 or 4 row harvester behind his tractor with a couple of accompanying trailers...??? Is growing beet now so price sensitive it's best to do the whole growing & cropping cycle with contractors...??? Great video btw 👌

Good evening. The moisture in the OSR is good, saving the drying costs. Ive watched John deere KZbin on the comand pro, looks ok. The idea of different operators putting their own name in and saving settings the way they like is arguably a gimmick. I like the look of the standard ivt with the leaver by its self. Nice and simple. 👍
@anorfolkfarmer9732
@anorfolkfarmer9732 Жыл бұрын
Command pro is very good once you get to know it. Everything is on there and it’s quite easy once you’re used to it. The gear box in that tractor is actually auto power which is slightly different to the ivt. Never driven ivt so not completely sure on the difference,
@leeforeman3656
@leeforeman3656 Жыл бұрын
@@anorfolkfarmer9732 I might be wrong, I think auto power is what John deere call ivt or cvt. There own brand name for the transmission.

Hi Mate, just found your channel. What a fantastic farm you run, I am from Cambridgeshire so not far from you. I don’t own a farm and no one from my family are farmers. So hard for me to get into farming. I now work at a farm and a butchers as it’s holidays which I am really enjoying. What tractors do you have? Subscribed + like

Thank you for the subscription! Good on you for getting into it, it’s certainly very rewarding! On our farm and the neighbours we’re all John deeres, on ours we have a 6920s, 8210 and a 3650. On the neighbours - who I’m also working for atm - he has a 7250r and a 6195r.

Good evening. Sumo make good machinery from what I've seen. I take it that's a low disturbance subsoiler. Hardcore yards work well, with easy maintenance, no need for expensive concrete yards everywhere. The audio quality is spot on. 👍
@anorfolkfarmer9732
@anorfolkfarmer9732 Жыл бұрын
Sumo do make some good machinery and yes that is a low disturbance subsoiler (LDS). I do agree with hardcore to a point, as it can get a bit muddy during the winter. We are planning on doing a little bit of concreting just outside our grainstore to prevent mud and put in some proper drainage

Great video. Reminds me if a time I was grass harrowing for a farm near kirkley hall. We’ve had that baler for 8 years I think now. And this year I think it’s the best it’s ever been! We put a new pressure pump on it as the old one broke and it’s completely revolutionised it. Now makes a consistent bale - a constant feed does also make a big difference

We have managed to get hold of a mchale mounted mower which is really cool - you will see that in a couple of videos time!
