As hard as these stories are to listen to, we owe it to these men and women to listen and keep listening. Their stories need to be heard. They experienced nothing short of pure horror for so long and it didn't end with the liberation of the camps. They carried that horror for the rest of their lives. Our minds could never comprehend such a breakdown of civilization.

I have become fascinated with these accounts of actual people who when through this terrible time. It really brings it to life. It is different from watching a documentary or a movie about the time. For some reason I can vividly visualize what they are talking about and it is so much better than movies. Plus you see her facial expression, the emotion in her eyes, her body language. It must take courage and bravery to be able to tell the story. It is so invaluable. Hopefully we will never repeat this horrible behavior.

I’m sure you didn’t mean to say anything negative about her. You were just sharing your thoughts but I think to call a woman who’s been through what she’s been through childlike and very timid wasn’t being mindful of her strength and character. The fact that she’s alive is pretty amazing. We’ll never know the number of people who just couldn’t face life after experiencing that kind of trauma and ended up dying in a car wreck or some other easily explained reason.

I listened to her story with headphones on and closed my eyes and I saw what she saw. Her description of everything was so vivid. Seeing it through the eyes of a child, it basically floored me and I wept. When she spoke about hearing the boots and that she continues to fear when she hears the sound of boots. She won my heart. What a remarkable person. A true tribute to civilization. I have found another role model. Thank you so much for this channel. Any time I feel bad because of something trivial, I go straight to this channel and listen and know that everything upon this planet is trivial compared to all those who went through the Sho'ah. This recounting of Mrs. Lebovics' experiences is just gut wrenching. One can not even begin to imagine ANYONE, much less a Young Child having to endure such cruelty and sadism. To be hidden in such grim places, and left all alone, only to be betrayed and almost killed. Parents don't even let kids that age go to the Park alone these days. To have survived all that, and the camps, and remained sane is astounding. Paula, looking at you now, I can't help think you must have been a very beautiful child, and you are a very young looking 61. God Bless you and your family. The fact that you went on to have a family is the best revenge against Naziism.

These stories remind me that we need to be very aware of what’s happening in our own country, not look away or think it cant ever get this bad. Imagining me and my loved ones in this situation reminds me of how fragile our republic is. It reminds me of how fragile life is, and how fortunate I am. I somewhat agree, at least between the years of 1939-1945. But there was also the Holodomor from 1932-1933 in the Soviet Union that systematically starved Ukrainians, there were actually about 7 million Ukrainians who were murdered in that short time through systematic and purposeful starvation. This was the Silent Holocaust, but no less terrifying and devastating. If you start doing research on Genocides you will begin to see how many people's are and have been exterminated for their race or beliefs, it's terrifying and unforgivable. There are 5 Genocides happening right now. You should do the research, it's absolutely horrifying.

My uncle was a prisoner of war during this time. He was a quiet man. The only thing I heard about it was from my father. My uncle never wanted to speak about his time as a prisoner. I heard he was put into a small box and there was Russian soldiers. God bless all those who had to endure such pain and death.

I’m watching this beautiful lady in 2021. I so hope she’s o.k . Such a brave , resilient lady who, somehow seems to remain childlike when she speaks. No child should have to go through or see the things she’s seen. The scars it would leave on your soul would be a burden for life. G-d bless you and your family. I so somehow hope you managed to find a little peace in your life 🙏🙏🙏🙏🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Unfortunately there are less and less holocaust survivors alive to tell their story in person. Crazy to realise my child mostly wont see them alive only the videos and books what remains. The average age of remaining holocaust survivors is 85 (in 2020) But yet again, many holocaust survivors live very long. And I do believe its because they can tell their story.

We have friends who lived through this they didn't like to discuss their childhood or anything about their life overseas. Only on special occasions would they talk about it & with special friends, I only learn about these sisters because one day in there shop as they helped me one of them actually got her sleeve caught it raised up I saw her tattoo.. Before she got it down I said, I was sorry for what they did, please know she is welcome here.. She left talked to her sister an the next thing I knew I was sitting in their kitchen with my parents and learning what they went through... They came to my school an spoke...We remained close friends until there passing.

The terrible things that go on in a war especially this inhumanity towards other human beings women and children is sickening and terrible. What this woman went through as a child is so horrific it makes me cry as a grown man 88 years old today This all happened when I was growing up in Kansas during the war and I'm so sad for all of these victims of the Holocaust. I pray for these people always and most I hope will be happy forever in heaven.

Susie Arviso - Hi Susie, I was intrigued as to why you were omitting the 'o' in 'G-d' in your posts because, as a Christian, I thought it may mean you're an atheist and it was a refusal to acknowledge His name so I googled it and it seems it's considered profanity to leave the 'o' in if the comment or document is ever deleted/destroyed; particularly in the Jewish faith! Is this correct? I know it's four years on but I'm hoping you get this message since I was wondering if there's another reason for it, which I've yet to come across?!!!
