I learned about microtonal music a long time ago and found it very interesting but always felt like the music just seemed like senseless riffing with cool scales, which is neat, but when i found your album Micropangea i realized how cool different TETs can be and realized that even microtonal music can be cohesive and have a solid, fluid motion to them (as contradictory as that statement may seem) I kind of left it at that for a while, one song in particular (i forget the name of it, may come back with an edit if i remember/find it (Edit: it was flourescent desert)) Occasionally id try and find that again, relentlessly searching on youtube for it again until i found it to listen to or show someone, but again never gave it much else for thought. Until today, when i was curious to see if you had any more recent releases and found this, and it's awesome. Its exactly what i wanted and love and I just picked up the download off your bandcamp, will likely be recording it to cassette in the near future. As an avid prog rock lover and lover in general of unique music, im very very happy. Awesome job dude.

Rhinosaur Beach 😮 I know "elevator music" usually isn't a complement, but that's the term that comes to mind- completely mellow, jazzy without being dissonant, classy as a white tie. I can just see the wrinkled lizards in golf shoes lounging about with their martinis!

Music reaches it's full potential when you break free from all norms. It really is only about what sounds good to the ears. I can relate to a lot of people when they say that this is what they've been looking for The songs have a really intricate feel. The amount of emotions that can be conveyed and intertwined are on a whole other level when comparing to 12 EDO. It's almost like the more notes a scale has, the more it can accurately express the infinitely complex nature of reality Nice album, Brendan! You are one of the pioneers of a new shift in music, I'm sure of it I'm gonna try to be a small part of this shift too :)

This is fantastic! As odd as 22-edo and 27-edo are, you find a way to make it somewhat poppy and accessible. Keep up the amazing work.

Yet another demonstration of your incredible ability to use microtones to create wild atmospheres beyond imagination! What an awesome album! (I also love this pattern of having the last track of your albums begin with ocean sounds ha ha!)

Was there any meaning to the airplane noise at the very end? The proportion in length to the whole album is suggestive...

I like to leave things open to interpretation, but I reference it in another song ("engines in the sky"), but I intended it as the end of the dream. Thanks for listening :)

@@BrendanByrnesMusic My pleasure! I've followed your work for a while; I really like microtonal non-EDM and I've tried my hand at microtonal composition and singing, and some of your albums are among my very favorites. here's an attempted transcription of the vocals from Weird Mansion: I'm walking through this house, and [I'm] not really sure but something [about it]- I've [either] been here before, or seen pictures [???I get why it's a wild thing???] it [has/was] a bad [???rep/dream???] And... it's completely lavish, bed[s] with gold and [?colored (?silks and?) satin?] All of it has this hivelike quality All the rooms are connected, and there's multiple layers There aren't any windows, and no one has actually ever lived here I suddenly get the feeling that I could live here if I wanted to I feel like I could live here or something but I don't really understand because... [?And then I remember that?] this house is next to the ocean Right next to the ocean but I know I can never make it there.

@@LorxusIsAFox cool! thanks for transcribing this. where you had the ??s I've got "I go into one of them, it’s a bedroom A very lavish bedroom with gold, cream colors, and satin" is your music online anywhere?

@@BrendanByrnesMusic Most of it is not! I've really only done a couple of little jingles in 22EDO (which I use as my phone alarms) and a 4-part vocal cover of a hymn my grandma loves which I recorded myself in 31EDO (because it's like quarter-comma meantone); I can link you to the latter but no promises you'll like it. :P
