One of best effects I've ever seen. In reality though when hook is inserted you have to watch so it doesn't tear the "sheet" & plus once it's hit a couple times you would have to replace with new one, so not sure how "practical" it could really be in fishing world if one is watching their costs. That effect would be more efficient in "flakes" versus "sheets". Great video though & expansion of the different techniques. Awesome work Chris.

Love the glitter film in the swimbaits....dopest color to date! Btw, my favorite soft bait jerk-bait brand (fish arrow) has a solid silver film for shine and they say a “crunch” effect. The film does make them slightly stiffer but that’s actually how i prefer them because of how i fish them, easier to jump them out of the water. Can’t wait to see more of this!

It holds up not bad berkley did the same thing on swimbaits years ago. They catch fish but the celaphane doesnt seem to stick very well.

I'm thinking using a small hole punch you could poke a bunch of holes near the top of the film so the plastic flows through the film and holds it in the bait. you could then have it go almost to the top of the bait.

I’d say run the film through a paper shredder a couple times if it cuts it clean. That way you could make some 1/4” or 3/16” square/parallelogram flake out of it. Either that or you could run it through the shredder except for the end and then run it through at an offset and make some long ribbon flake.

Newbie molder here, I really like fishing the Dep Bull Flat, it’s a big piece of plastic that rips on first fish. Other than tougher plastic, have you tried any methods to help big baits fish longer than one fish? And do you know of anyone trying a mesh insert, such as the Jackall Bounty Fish uses in its tail section?

Chris, since-as you demonstrate-the glitter film responds to a heat gun, have you considered trying to "skin" the mold with the film? I would think it MIGHT be possible to lay a strip into each half of the mold and apply gentle heat (maybe with a hair dryer instead of a heat gun?), thereby "persuading" the film to form itself into the half-shape of the bait. If this worked (instead of making a horrible mess!), interrupting the bonding of the hot Plastisol with the centrally positioned film strip shown in this video wouldn't be an issue. Just a thought . . . P.S. I don't have any aluminum swimbait molds in which to try this myself. Sorry.

Haven't read all those comments but here in northern Europe we call that color in sheet and flakes Mother of Pearl. Can be used also on hard baits on top of bottom color. That changes bit depending what color you have underneath that film... Btw, all of them look extremely Hot💪🌋 🔥Caution!!! CHRIS IS ON FIRE AGAIN!!! 🔥
