Even though Hololive members have lots of these unhinged moments, it always feels tasteful and professional. They don’t overdo it, or say outrageous things just for shock value. These moments stand out and work because they’re situated in an overall environment of good wholesome fun.

Yeah, that’s what I like about them. Trying to be unhinged and edgy gets very old after a while, like low hanging comedy fruit. But by being even just a *little* more reserved with it, it becomes more powerful. It also forces you to be more clever and make smarter jokes, instead of relying on shocking/outrageous moments.

Highly recommend you check out the hololive GTA event, the longer videos you get to see the intereactions of many members from all 3 branches of hololive. The clippers work really hard to bridge the laguage gap for western fans and the japanese talents and the interactions are halarious.

If you think this is shocking, you should hear what other vtubers do outside of streaming to and with each other. You got Numi making out with Trickywi and Hakos Baelz when they're drunk (if Numi was a guy, the internet would never let it go), Bao flashing her friends at a hotel on two occasions including showing her down stair, Matara Kan flashing her calcium cannons to Camilla the first time they meet at Anime Expo, Nerissa creeping up on Kiara in the onsen, Numi + Bae + Camilla making boob prints in the snow, and so many other stories. I'm not making this up; the mentioned vtubers admitted to doing so themselves in their streams. I wouldn't be surprised if they were banging on the down low, but my biggest worry is someone is gonna go too far and a scandal happens. All it takes is one person to mess up a good thing, and then they lose their jobs (which is not what I want for any of them).

Just gonna casually shill my favorite Vtuber corpo, Phase Connect. The running joke with them is that their boss Fishman aka H2oSakana recruits talent from insane asylums lol. He has created quite possible the greatest group of mentally ill women on the planet. They also interact with some of the Hololive girls from time to time. Like Kiara being a mod for Komachee Panko (the OG corpo Italian Vtuber) and Liz being a mod on Fujikura Uruka's stream (OG corpo violin Vtuber). In terms of being degenerate and unhinged, Hololive doesn't hold a candle to them. That being said, I still very much like and respect Hololive, and I completely understand why they're considered basically the gold standard of Vtuber corporations.
