Fauna actually barely read chat the entire stream. She mostly just consulted them about game mechanics and stuff. Most of Fauna's chat was just memeing about going to war with everyone. The only reason why she pushed into Reine's base was because she thought Reine was attacking her by placing that castle there.

Since I saw some people are talking about "Dang those Elephants are so OP", I would like to add some context from the actual competitive scene of AoE2 (yes, AoE2 is actually having a second golden age and has a great competitive scene nowadays): 1. Persian War Elephant is stupidly strong, but it's also stupidly expensive. It's basically almost never used competitively in 1 vs 1 thanks to this and the fact that it being countered by the cheapest unit in the game (swarms of pikes) AND can be stolen by Monk and you can't really do anything about that counter. Fauna managed to trample everything because her opponents let her built them to the number where even their counter (halberdiers/pikes) can't really counter them anymore thanks to Elephant's trample (splash) damage. 2. Another reason why this strategy work is that Fauna is the only player here who managed to built an actual economy that could support massive army and invested enough in trade. Kiara and Reine did some trade to lesser degree, but they often forget to build reinceforcements and organize their economy while they are busy attacking -- Fauna most of the time keep looking back at her base to keep building more units so once she went with pressure everyone have no time to rebuilt army. 3. Last important detail: The biggest weakness of every single casual AoE players is that every begginer never thought of building multiple production buildings (e.g Barracks) to make units -- this applies to everyone here. However, Kiara and Fauna could spam their unique units because they happened to make multiple castles for defense and area control purpose, enabling them to actually utilize their resources to fight (Kiara's TTK sadly just got countered by Elephants). On the other hand, Halberdiers/Pikes are SUPER cheap and don't require gold -- they could easily outnumber and counter Elephants. The problem is that thanks to the fact that they almost never intentionally make multiple production buildings to build units, they are never pumped in enough numbers to counter the number of Elephants that happend to be pumped from multiple Castles. You can't compete against three castles with just one barrack!

None of this text is written as criticism (or even suggestion) to any of the girls (if any of them read this though, hi!), but just to provide more technical information on how Fauna ended up as a victor in this particular friendly match. AoE2 possibly has the most very friendly RTS game out there due to a very welcoming community and some AoE2 casters like T90 actually have regular contents where they are showcasing interesting matches from low ELO players since a lot of them are actually very fun! (some might even enjoy these level of matches more compared to the actual competitive level) In other words, you can take this as "here's a more in-depth insight of the game! If you're interested in more, maybe you can try to play the game since AoE2 is actually a fantastic RTS game with currently very active matchmaking for both beginners and experts alike!"

Yea, Kronii had too few defences, and Kiara started castle-dropping right outside. The fatal error was the hole in her wall created by her own villagers chopping the wrong tree down. After that, it went downhill from there.

You don’t need a snitch when your entire battleplan is point defence creep straight towards everyone’s bases. Reine and Kiara were building a castle within sight of faunas walls and in every space spot of no mans land. of course there was going to be a response to prevent one team having 60% map control via “turrets”.

@@laplace8461 they would have won if they had attacked Fauna's instead, at the time Fauna's troops weren't organized and Anya wouldn't have been able to save Fauna, the attack at Anya's base gave Fauna the time she needed to organize her army and launch the counter attack, also if Anya had stopped the caravans from moving she would had held more since that's what screwed her.

Getting the different viewpoints stitched together makes me better understand the dangers of having jumpy border guards. Fauna is probably the best in Moba out of EN, and can probably compete with most of JP and ID as well. Aqua hasn't played in a while, but she was really good at Moba's and probably the only Hologirl who would be more experienced than Fauna.

Kiara started off pretty strong. If she and Reine had gone after Fauna instead of Anya after interrupting Kronii's Wonder attempt she might have even had a chance to win, but after all the fighting (and by not constantly replacing her units as they were getting killed like Fauna was), her forces were too weak to put up a defense against Fauna's counterattack, and by then she had mentally checked out as well.
