I wish that all the horror games uses exactly that kind of jumpscares, no loud music, no stupid screaming, just a really scary moment. After loud jumpscares you calm down in a few minutes, but if I was alone at night playing this game and saw it, I would not be able to sleep anymore

The best type of horror in my opinion is the subtle type of horror. Similar to this in which the 'horror' or 'scares' can be missed completely by accident or be subtle enough to avoid the player's (or audience) perception until it is standing right next to them.

yo in this game there is a MUCH worse scare that can randomly happen when you're in a small closet-shaped space and you turn around, SHE WILL BE RIGHT THERE PEEKING AND SHIFT AWAY. it scares literally everyone i've seen witness it in-game (check out John Wolfe's video on the second chapter of Visage, somewhere around 40:40 for a brilliant reaction 😂) basically, much more genius and lasting fear than a loud noise and something predictable

Silent horror is the most effective imo, seeing something scary without any cheap jumpscares, as long as you set the atmosphere right and make the player feel unsafe, you've succeed... Have them wander around a house in silence, knowing someone or something is out to hurt them... That's proper horror, even games for children can do jumpscares with a loud sound and sudden movement, just catching someone off-guard isn't too difficult, but it is also case by case, some people drop their guard easier than others... Sorry about the rambling... ...Fubuki saying "Ginko" (safe) was unnecessarily adorable btw...

This is why i love this game. Horror games needs to implement this more. No obnoxious in your face jump scares, no gradually increasing horror music, no signs, nothing. Those subtle scares are scarier cause you are not expecting it and it gives you the feeling that you're constantly being watched.

I wish these types of games where the jumpscares are legitimately scary, terrifying and haunting are created more. You could definitely feel the immersion within the feeling of terror and despair onto these types of horror games.

I noticed the grandma typos back after back when fubuki was explaining there. Also, this might help, might not, I noticed you used peak instead of peek? Hey, you translate Japanese to English but I can't do Japanese and people usually help with the Japanese words and I guess I'm ok on the English side. So peak would mean the highest point of something. And peek would be the "peeking around the corner" one. Yeah yeah, call me a grammar nazi or something, I'm just trying to help anyone I can.
