I wouldn’t buy those plates, they have bad ratings. I only used it because they came with the gun. I’m actually planning on changing it to a DPP titanium plate

Are those shorter Holosun screws holding up? I been thinking about this set up too but would like to use the forward Controls Design plate.
@scottgood78884 ай бұрын
I'm a little confused about something. I have the Holosun 507c optic for my Glock 19, and I'm watching different videos and some guys are installing the optic directly to the gun without an adapter plate, while others are using the adapter plate. Also, there are several different pairs of screws, some that came with the glock, and others that came with the optic. It's not real clear which screws are used to mount the optic to the slide. I understand, however, that the shortest screws are to mount the adapter plate (if one is being used) to the slide. Hopefully someone can clear up my confusion. Thanks!
@cristianwilliams81224 ай бұрын
if you bought an adapter plate use the screws for the holosun that came with the plate that’s what i had to do, there are certain versions of the optic where you don’t need a plate mine did and i prefer it that way for the added height and 1/3 cowitness with height sights. the screws that came with my holosun were to thick for my plate but the ones that came with the plate fit the optic and plate perfectly
@cristianwilliams81224 ай бұрын
if your screws are not labeled to clear up confusion yes the shorter screws are usually for the plate to slide , longer for optic to plate, but like i said i couldn’t use any of the screws that came with the holosun as my adapter plate came with specific screws for the optic, the plate is the dpp titanium plate for rmr and holosun w/ glock 19 fit works GREAT

i never understood people buying an MOS version and then buying an optic to then use plates. save your money and buy a non-mos and get your slide milled for a perfect fit and clean look.

Mailed my slide to a gunsmith company last year, it was 5 months to get it back. So now I just bought a G19 slide that is already RMR made for a 507c, getting it today. And got it on New Year's sale for 100 bucks less on sale!
@wrxzboost29 күн бұрын
@@coachanderson2704 i never sent a slide out to get milled...i've either bought a new gun and had the slide milled at the time of purchase (glockstore) or bought an optics ready slide (ARC, Agency)

I bought a slide off eBay. It’s rmr cut for holosun 507c and 507c x2. That being said Would you say a plate is still needed? I’m new to optics, sorry for the dumb question. I see many videos of people being judged without a plate and for having a plate.

I have a Glock 45 also and I would say with its full size grip, it's at about the limit of comfortable CCW. My EDC is a S&W MP 9 Shield 1.0, which is much smaller and more comfortable to carry.
