I find myself wanting to love C&H plates due to the fact that they’re generally the slimmest available. Unfortunately they need to work on the inserts the screws thread into. I’ve broken a few while mounting optics while well below torque spec. I constantly feel the need to shake my optics on C&H plates to check if the post broke during firing. I’m no metallurgist so don’t know the answer but hopefully they figure something out. Thanks for the informative upload.

How much over hang does the standard EPS or the 509t hang off the C2 also would the EPS Carry fit the Staccato C2?

Dawson claims you cant mount the eps yet on the staccato's.... Only the eps carry van be mounted they say because of screws

calculatedkinetics has the required replacement screws, that the Full size EPS is apparently missing. I'm assuming the Deck height of the two optics are exactly the same so Dawson Plate should work with both. Dawson responded to my email when I tried to confirm, saying that it was only for the EPS Carry.....I'm assuming this is because they don't supply Screws for full size, and/or maybe they Only tested with Carry version. so maybe its just a CYA Statement by them, as I don't see any difference in specs that matter regarding the Plate.

For a P10, I'd go full size. Like gun sizes, always go with the biggest dot that makes sense for the setup. The EPS is about the same size as a 507c, which is pretty standard for that size pistol

Nice reviews! I know this vid is older... but I currently run the EPS MRS Red on my Staccato C2 as my EDC on a C&H optics plate. One that I got ~ 1.5 years back when plates were available for the EPS optics. I've never had luck getting a front sight to work w/the plate I have so I just rely on the RD (not perfect, but it's never failed). I wondered if you had made any changes on what Optics plate/front sight/etc you're currently using on your Staccato C2? If so, can you share here as it would be appreciated.

My eps carry broke within 2 mags on my 48; sent in a month or so ago for warranty work/replacement and haven’t heard any updates.

I've run hundreds of you Ds through all three of mine with no issue. Obviously that doesn't negate your issue, just saying mine seem to be OK. What broke? Also, may be worth reaching back out. A month is a long time, they got a dot with a broken battery terminal back to me in about two weeks

@@workthetrigger not sure exactly what broke yet; but it just shut off (figured it was the battery) swapped it out for 4 different replacement batteries with no luck - just would not turn back on. Once I get it back, so long as it works, I definitely plan on running it on my 48. All of my other Holosuns have been great!

I went regular, and I think I made the right choice. The C2 is defi itely not a small gun, and thought he body of the EPS hangs over slightly, the size is more in scale with the gun. And with a dot, if you can go big, go big

The slide width on the CS vs the C2 should be the same right? Therefore the same rule of thumb applies and it would be better to put the full size EPS on the CS correct? I have a C2 with a 508t and I like it. I’m thinking the big EPS should be fine on the CS but trying to decide. Advice appreciated

I have a Bul Armory SAS II UL. It’s a 3.25” so a pretty small gun. You think the EPS would have a lot of overhang?

I run my EPS on a Staccato C2, which is also a 1911/2011. It's fine. Overhang is based on gun width, so the barrel length doesn't really matter much.

Various sources indicate that the EPS/EPS Carry footprint is slightly different than the 507K footprint due to a difference in the height of the mounting pegs. Did you try mounting the EPS Carry on a 507K mounting plate and, if so, did it work?

It's mounted on a P365 X Macro, which is 507k compatible, the EPS red is mounted on a 507k C&H plate and the EPS green is mounted on an arisaka 507k 45 offset mount... All function fine.

Because people need to understand how things perform compared to similar options. Viewed in a vacuum everything could be great. We compare to be able to see where things can be better or what could be worse, and to see which one you would spend your money on. What is the point of looking at the eps if we don't compare it to the enclosed Optics already on the market. How would you know that good is good?

@@workthetrigger To answer your question, I already knew that I wanted either an EPS or an EPS Carry or the EPS MRS that includes solar recharging. I did not need a lesson about the 509 to make a decision between those three.
