do you have to use that lead tape or can use something else in its place?

No you can use round wire. I just prefer flat because I can taper and build the body better. You can get the same effect though with round wire and building up the body with thread.

No we are located in Blair county just south of Altoona. We do have a brick and mortar shop which you are welcome to stop in to if you're in the area.
