From Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the NBC series revolving around Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg), a New York City Police Department (NYPD) detective in Brooklyn's fictional 99th Precinct, who often comes into conflict with his commanding officer, the serious and stern Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher). The series also stars Terry Crews as Sargeant Terry Jeffords, Melissa Fumero as Amy Santiago, Stephanie Beatriz as Rosa Diaz, Chelsea Peretti as Gina Linetti and Joe Lo Truglio as Charles Boyle.

I think Holt was always more free but with finally coming to precinct that's very open-minded made him feel less forced to be that "perfect image" at all times. That he had to use to protect himself from even more discrimination he had while working as a police before he became a captain.

This reminds me of Benjamin Sisko from TNG but Sisko is less human and the weirdest human I've seen portrayed on screen. The funniest part is how the character (Sisko) is, supposedly, a normal human but the way the actor played him makes him look like an alien trying to conform to human customs.
