1.) Agree, John. This is a beautiful tank and it looks especially fantastic with the underwater vegetation growing. The translucent green color is particularly nice. 2.) I encourage anyone who would like to see more tank styles and tank decorations to VOICE YOUR OPINION on the contact page of the sea-monkeys website. PLEASE. 3.) That picture of me is what I “USED” to look like - decades ago. Ha! It was taken about the time I was doing contract work for ExploraToy around the turn of the century. (You do the math.) 4.) It’s always a joy to see what John has in store for us in his videos. They never disappoint. The amount of time and attention he gives to them is truly amazing. And finally … 5.) I can’t imagine what 10-year-old-John and 10-year-old-me would would have been up to had we grown up together. One things for certain, it would have been Sea-Monkey related. THANK YOU, JOHN!

It would be cool to see a zoo with a flamingo exhibit that has a brine shrimp/sea monkey aquarium that they feed astaxanthin or some other carotenoid from seaweed. The flamingos get their color from them and zoos often explain that, but it would be so cool and easy for them to have a little exhibit actually showing the brine shrimp instead of just a sign or something.

I was traumatized by a knockoff "Sea Monkeys" kit my mother found at the Asian mart ca. 1983. I ended up hatching the creepiest looking aliens my little 8 year old eyes had seen. They were much bigger than normal sea monkeys and were a hideous green/black color. The worst part was that they were cannibals and ate each other violently. To this day I have no idea what the heck those critters were. Edit: Have you tried 3d printing your own lids and bases or accessories?

I'll be watching more because I'm curious about the aerator and other experiences you have. What I liked best was the microscope content, but I thought the review was well spread out. The final tank looks amazing! Kind of makes me want one too if it weren't for the price tag. The idea of modular and customizable kits is very cool and I hope it gets picked up someday. Lastly, I'd love to see a video about the counterfeiting. I've always been fascinated by bootlegging and counterfeit products, and if it's sea monkeys then I'd always just assume copycats would be the extent of it. But the official company counterfeiting their own packets? That's something I'd be interested in hearing.
@anie61424 ай бұрын
There's a sunken ship in your algae 😂! I absolutely love this tank, I wish to one day own the purple version with the ship, but we will see, I might just find a way to use glow-in-the-dark filament or resin and 3D print my own ship, if I somehow I manage to get the dimensions right (or find someone that 3D scanned this ship). I stopped trying to clean up the bottom of my tanks and I got a lot of round spherical algae growing, but I still feel like I should clean it because on occasion the older algae turns yellow and dies and creates a bacteria bloom or something else that can be bad for the tank (can definitely wipe out colonies) , it's hard to find the right balance of algae, but if the algae is healthy, as you demonstrated, it can sustain a bunch of living organisms, not just the Sea-Monkeys, and also provide oxygen in the tank, which is why I don't have to aerate my tanks daily since the light or sunlight they get helps the algae to produce oxygen and I do see the bubbles rise to the surface, I do still aerate a day or two after feeding to make sure the surface of the water doesn't create surface bacteria, which when it happens it can be a pain to get rid of, but paper towels and patience work. Thank you so much for reviewing this tank! It really lived up to expectations and more, I was afraid it would lose it's haunting appearance with the algae but it just adds to it and makes it even better! Hope you have a great weekend and best of luck in your projects 💜!

The reason this tank is doing so well despite the reduced space is the multiplied surface area. The nooks and crannies of the ship are free real estate both for the algae, and also for nitrifying bacteria, breaking down waste and turning it into less toxic fertiliser for the algae. Of course, this is nothing compared to a natural object like a porous stone, or better yet, gravel made from a porous stone. Sandstone, lava rock, basalt, granite, and even coral are good options for this.

Maybe do a video about it. 2- As for the multiple languages packaging possibly having being sold in America I don´t think so. I´m originally from Puerto Rico. As part of USA we get their same products. And I never saw multiple languages in a packaging. If anything French (Canada) but not more than that. It wasn´t until I moved to Spain that I found the multiple languages packaging. 3- Wondering, do you consider yourself already the Brine shrimp god? If not, you should. I do. ;)

For those who don’t know the numb 1 and 2 packs are intentionally mislabeled. The number 1 packs is actually the eggs and the number 2 pack is a sodium bicarbonate to purify the water. The eggs take around 24 hours to fully hatch so the idea was to trick kids into thinking it was instant.
