I love what he did with this. Beyoncé is obviously an icon and I think it speaks to both of their talents that he was able to stylize her lyrics to the point that it doesn’t sound like the same song at all, but it still hits like the original.

I don't know man, I just hate it? The only times I think it might be possible for me to enjoy it are when it veers weakly in the direction of the original. I don't hear what everyone else is hearing. I think I might be able to appreciate them more if they hadn't done a cover-- like if they had just made up their own damn lyrics! I feel like they just took B's authentic lyrics, pulled the soul out of them, and inserted them into a completely different lounge-y song with none of the fire it deserves. And not in a smart, ironic, Cake's "I Will Survive" kind of way. Just in a "this is barely a cover" kind of "why would you do that?" way. But good covers are tough. Or I'm a harsh critic. Either way, to each their own. I feel you guys are all off your rockers. ;)
