The last time I've seen it that busy was on 12/31/2017. At capacity in DL and we couldn't even walk around the park - shoulder to shoulder stuck. Never again the week between Christmas and NYE for us!

Love your videos! We are from NJ. We met you in Aug 2023 at DCA. 😊 Ever since, my son loves to play "guess the wait times" while looking at the app. I was shocked when he asked me to guess on Dec 30th. Then he was so excited that you posted a State of DCA from that day. For once, I was glad we weren't there! Crazy crowds!!!

Thank you for the state of the park videos. I enjoy them very much. I appreciate you always doing this for us. Back in the day, DCA had shows that took some of the crowds off the ride lines. They had Tough to be a Bug, Muppets, CA history movie, Millionaire, Aladdin, Crush, and that kids playhouse. I think they only have half of those now. Happy new year to you and your lovely family! 🎉

We went from 7AM to 1AM every day in July. I wore my family out. They had never been to a Disney park. I had been to WDW and was used to walking 20 miles a day. Lol! 😆

Love this!!!! You are so accurate with the lines. I’ve been in a line before and thought “ this doesn’t look 45 minutes “ then halfway through the line I checked the tip board and it had jumped to 60. We stayed in the line but ended up finishing at 70 minutes.

We were there that day and YES it was crazy from that day on! At first I thought Magic Keys being blocked would be helpful but I MISSED you guys!!! I realized that without Magic Keys it ended up being a huge crowd of newbies so LLs were at max which caused standby to get backed up. I saw so many LLs used at RD and after fireworks which caused standby lines to go from

We were down by the stunt show when Web Slingers first opened and they were doing virtual queue. When we got boarding passes for Rise; we walked on and the queue was only in the first section. Hubby was expecting the same. Lol! 😆

In my youth, ancient times at this point, I was worried that I would find an empty Disneyland and that would diminish the experience . It's a careful what you wish for moment, but to be honest back in the day when there was an actual off season on more than 1 occasion I found myself in a nearly empty park. The Friday before Thanksgiving 1975 I was the only guest our Pirates at 11AM. Still kind of creeps me out after all these years. The biggest change to Disneyland isn't the park itself, but how Disney has become a almost indispensable part of many people's lives. The urge to cross under the berm to escape the insanity of the "real" world seems to be greater than ever.

I was in DCA on Dec. 30th and it was VERY busy. In fact, we left later on in the day when every line, for every ride, was in the 60+ minutes. We went to Disneyland where the lines were more manageable. But, On Wednesday (Jan. 1st) it started out good in Disneyland, but by 2 in the afternoon it was miserable because nearly all the big rides were broken down at the same time (Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Tiana's, and Space Mountain) which made the park seem much busier because rides that would otherwise suck people into their lines were empty. Tiana's broke down nearly every day we were there, and we ended up spending something close to 4 hours in line, cumulatively, before we actually got to ride it because it seemed to break down every time we got in line for it.

I'd never wait more than 80 minutes for any ride. If I saw a 3 hour line I'd put it on the "next time" list. 😅

3:24 for me I couldn’t visit the park as much as Fresh Baked does. I enjoy disney parks when I go less often. The more frequent I visit the less magic I feel. Disney Magic gets lost with redundancy. It almost becomes monotonous. In short I would never want to work at any Disney park for that matter. FYI born n raised in so cal. Disneyland is my park. Out of the 6 castles in the world I’ve visited 3. Got 3 to go!

I went to Disneyland once on New Year's Eve. Never again. The park was at capacity. They stopped letting people in. Too crowded to do anything. Fireworks were cool though. Only worth it if you have an annual pass and live nearby

OMG those lines look like Disneyland Tokyo and Tokyo DisneySea! I was just there in Oct. on a Wednesday and Thursday and was not prepared for the wait times - 220 min for Soaring, 140 min. for Enchanted Tales of Beauty & the Beast, 120 min. for the Happy Ride w/ Baymax which is the same ride as Mater's, and 175 min for Indiana Jones to name a few. Even the lines for popcorn were 30 min. or more, it was nuts. I thought a 70 min wait time for Rise in Disneyland was bad but nothing compared to the Tokyo parks.

I will never understand your love of crowds. As someone with bad social anxiety the last time I was at the park was very much a "never again" dealbreaker. I couldn't walk ANYWHERE without being in someone else's way. It wasn't a matter of people exchanging good vibes, it was a matter of the crowds creating BAD vibes because everyone was pretty much competing for walking space. Forget about being able to find a bench, table etc. It was just truly miserable all around and was miserable for the full three days I was there that week. The ONLY type of theme park setting that I prefer to be as crowded as possible at for the vibes is Scary Farm. Even if weekends are a lot more crowded the difference in energy between Fridays and Saturdays and any other night is really palatable (though I'll totally agree with you that day time Knott's being crowded is pretty insufferable and they definitely need to get their act together when it comes to operations)

I would have been super interested to see how many people were at a non-ride attraction like Mickey's Philharmagic. That shouldn't have a wait beyond the 10 minutes for the next show. I would be curious to know if anyone wanting to get into the show could do so at the minimum wait. Same idea with Animation Academy.

This validates Disney's decision to blackout the final 2 weeks of the year to MK's. You have to hand it to Disney for taking a chance on doing that and being right about it. They made a boatload more money doing it this way than having the park overrun with MK's. I wonder what the future holds for MK's?

This is why I stopped going there. I don’t like crowds. I see no fun there. Very sad. Disneyland was my go to vacation destination. We’d have to wait a little while to get on a ride, but we could get right back on again. One price got you in the door, and we’re talking about $35. Disney made its money on selling food and merchandise. Anything consumed you had to pay for. But we were in charge of how much we wanted to spend that day. Disney needs to do better. 😢

Let's assume that locals are the one's buying the keys. I suggest that it is rare that locals would pay for single day tickets. When the parks are full of guests from out of town, my guess is that they are in on multi-day passes, therefore price tiers are irrelevant.

The fact that usually when we go, there is at least one person using mobility equipment in my party, that kind of crowd is just anxiety provoking and does (for us) detract from the experience. I'm not asking for an empty park, but cattle lines for everything and human traffic jams everywhere are not magical.
