This guy's an AoM pro! Don't feel too bad for losing :) Also, it appears that the meta is gathering wood and stone in transition from age 1 to 2 and immediately expanding upon reaching age 2. A lot of AoE3 Pro Players are doing it, and it's mighty stronk

Hard map, this guy is a pro and is featured on aussiedrongo as well. His basebuilding is the best. A lot of players fast expand with a second town center to produce extra vills. Great to learn from these players. Don’t blame yourself for losing Turin. Will you play delhi sultanate too? We need those BIG mûmakil charges! =)

How do you counter that then? Attack his dock by land? Build a dock down the coast hoping doesn't find it? Turtle hard with walls and slowly expand?

Counter it by doing your own fish boom, and get an extra tc early before the Longbows.

Around the 10-12 minute mark I started getting a bad feeling about the game; couldn't really put my finger on it other than that the opponent seemed good and Turin had virtually no defence. Still, it was a cool game, and as always. Turin's a gentleman. He both wins and loses gallantly, and streams both. Kudos. PS: Haven't seen much France? I'd like to. :)

Loving your AOE4 content. I feel like a tiny bit of walling would have really helped on this map, given the narrow land mass. Even though he would have invested in transport ships to get around it, I think it would have helped you slow the rush a ton!

Does the language spoken by the HRE change as the age progresses like the English speaking Saxon during the dark age progressively becoming early/modern english(i think) in the Imperial age. Can't tell the difference between early german language to that one used in the Imperial age(modern german?)

It does! can't tell how historically accurate the iterations are tho :(

They do. I don‘t understand anything from dark age. But in feudal they speak something similar to middle high German. Then they speak an old fashioned version of high German. They never speak modern German though but German speaker should understand the most in Imperial age. I red once a book from the 19th century in German. I think the German they speak in game is way closer to modern German than that book.
@JohnFromAccounting2 жыл бұрын
I have only played HRE so far and my strategy against English is rush Feudal, build Meinwerk Palace, and go for a Man-at-Arms rush to mess up econ and put pressure on Council Hall with rams. I don't need to destroy their council hall, but the amount of resources that will be dedicated to fighting against Man-at-Arms with blacksmith upgrades is more than I have to invest, so I can build a faster econ and get to Castle age, where I can then snowball with aggressive keeps and sacred sites. If the game goes long enough for me to get Regnitz Cathedral, my econ is always better than English econ because I don't need to put any villagers on gold. I'm never worried about my buildings being destroyed because of the HRE faction trait where I can repair buildings for free.
@turinRTS2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that works! Armor upgrade early, etc

Tip : Dont give the water controll up so easlyi next time. Water is very important, if One player has the water and the other doesnt they can basically produce more resource gathers then you can, and so bigger economy.

In general, if you lose control of the water out macroing your opponent is almost impossible. I don't know if there are coin sources at sea like there was in AoE3 the fish would be worth fighting for, or at least denying.
@turinRTS2 жыл бұрын
Aye!
@dong97792 жыл бұрын
Building buildings at sea should require more resources or strategic resources or take longer to build imo. It does give a huge advantage to the player who obtains this first or solely.

Just FYI: the proper pronunciation of "prelate" is PREH-lut (rhymes with "pellet" and "zealot"), not PREE-late. The mispronunciation seems to be going around the AOE4 commentators, many of whom I'm sure have read the word many times without ever hearing it said. :)

Maaan I must say, one thing that I'm thinking about AOE4 is that you can't do a loot of turtling, canons and trebuchet are doing a TOOOON of damage (that's what i'm feeling), so it's better to try a super rush like he did here. Also mist is a top pro player so it's hard to win, but keep on going your vid's are the BEST!

Heavy cavalry also doesn't counter HRE man-at-arms w/ upgrades effectively enough. they get anti-armor tech maces and it's actually not cost-effective at all and they end up countering knights w/ even cost numbers (like 2 to 1). you need crossbows+mangos to really deal with them tbh. longbows don't deal enough damage through their armor

Sometimes watching a game like this it makes you wonder if it is “he who can micro base build best” that wins or can strategy still prevail or have an effect ?
@marcvanzyl85562 жыл бұрын
It is definitely a bit of both, but you can't substitute one for the other completely. If you can micro well but macro horribly, you won't effective at all. Honestly, I think that macroing is more important up until a point. Decent micro with really good macro is a lot better than decent macro with really good micro.
