People just have to criticize everything, dude the 250R build is bad ass all the way, the air filter is sweet, the pipe is awesome, the ESR tag looks great, everything is sweet I could sit and just look at that R all night if it was in my garage. Also the Craftsmen handy cuts are a awesome tool I've had them for years, they will cut damn near anything. Everything you build is bad ass. 👍

Great design and execution as usual Mike. I’ll try to keep this brief. It saddens me that it is considered “normal” for aftermarket parts not to fit, as you have lamented in so many videos, particularly if they are made for a specific frame. It is no more difficult to make a part that fits than it is to make one that almost fits. These aren’t spacecraft they are outfitting. The tolerances are pretty generous. Maybe if you and other high profile builders complain loud and long to these vendors, they will up their game a little bit. Thanks.

Oh man. I’ve never been so excited to see someone put oil/coolant &gas in anything. That means it’s so close. It looks amazing and I wasn’t sure about the ESR plate but once again you did an amazing job. Can’t wait for the next video. Outstanding as always bro.

Absolutely amazing and beautiful Mike! FYI, these TRX big bore motors are meant to run the head stay (bolted to the frame) but DO NOT run the bolt through the head. Ask any builder! My TRX 420 has the oem head stay but no bolt through the head...

One thing I've learned over the years of building quads, all the chunks of hose you cut and trimmed, keep. I've had to use minor pieces on my nerf bars to stop fender rub and on my a arms from.the brake lines rubbing. Small details.

Build is coming along nicely. If 100 other subscribers haven’t told you already, I think the rear reservoir needs to be moved to the other side of the frame. If you decide to start tweaking the knobs on your reservoir, your going to be reaching in a tight place between a hot exhaust pipe and your fenders. I have mine on the left side frame rail (running vertically) directly behind the radiator. It will be more accessible and not gonna be catching near as much heat as the place you have it.
@MichaelSabo
@MichaelSabo 4 жыл бұрын
Thats a great call man; I am moving it but the only reason I had it there is because it fits there so well; the line doesn't want to bent the other way.

Excellent job Michael, it is going to be fast and should handle like it's on rails. I really like your color scheme/combination choices, gives it that mean military fighting look. Back in the mid to late 80's I had and rode several Suzuki 500 Ouads but I would venture to say that your quad is going to have a top end that will be scary fast like the quadzilla was. Keep up the great & creative work with your resto-mod quad project!

I was on the fence originally about the colors. OMG, how I love it. It looks one of a kind and just beautiful. I hope it runs as great as it looks. Powder coating can give a little problems during reassembly. If you ever want to sell it, let me know. You have encouraged me to just build one. I had an 87 and 88 mostly stock.

The only thing I would have done differently so far is notch the gussets instead of the nerf bar mount, and also I would have used 200-3000 grit sequence on the gas tank to make it look newer. But I love the build man been watching since the beginning!

hey i know you have had 2 strokes before and i just want to see if you know but when it is warm and you go to start it right as you kick blip the throttle. starts first kick every time. learned that this week at winchester bay. also learned the easiest way to bend a rim in half (didn't learn them at the same time) i cant wait to hear that thing scream just be careful i rode mine for the second time after a rebuild and it caught my leg and im fairly sure fractured my calf but i dont want to see you get hurt or anyone for that matter.

Love your videos Mike even though I wouldn't even know how to ride a quadbike. Just so entertaining mate thanks. The ESR nameplate on your exhaust looks real good. What's a led pipe? Is that a brand? I like how you got around the exhaust mount alignment problems; those adapter brackets look like they're supposed to be there, well done. That in-line temp gauge is a great idea. Only one negative point - did I see you use a rounded u-bolt around the square-sectioned frame to hold the nerf bars on? That seemed a bit bodgey from a guy like you mate? Couldn't you have used one of those nice machined MPM brackets you've used elsewhere on the bike?
