I love the convenience and also consistent, straight forward, and meaningful homilies. In many Catholic churches I find that priests ramble, give multiple messages that don't connect, or give boring homilies that don't seem to relate to the readings or, worse, they use Christmas and Easter to chastise people that don't usually attend.

About 10 years ago I stopped watching The Ten Commandments every Lent and started watching Passion of Christ. It's a brutal reminder what Jesus endured at the end, for us. It makes me cry every time and reinforce what God did for all of us.

Lol Eric You should hear the Monsignor and priests at my church sing. Father Mike is fine. I sing louder to help those around me because I was raised with the thought that, if God gave you a bad singing voice, you sing louder so he can hear what he gave you. 😂

In the Catholic understanding, the betrayal of Jesus by Judas Iscariot is a complex event with multiple interpretations. The Gospels suggest several motives: Greed: Judas may have been motivated by money, as he agreed to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver (Matthew 26:15-16). Satanic Influence: The Gospels of Luke and John mention that Satan was working on Judas (Luke 22:3, John 13:2,27), which could imply a spiritual influence on his decision. Messianic Expectations: Some speculate that Judas expected Jesus to be a political Messiah who would liberate Israel from Roman rule. By betraying Jesus, Judas might have hoped to force Jesus into a position where he would have to assert his messianic role. Regret and Confusion: After the betrayal, Judas showed signs of regret, returning the silver and expressing remorse for betraying “innocent blood” (Matthew 27:3-4), which could indicate he did not fully understand the consequences of his actions.
