I recently bought the NSEQ-2 and it's amazing - can really bring out subtleties without upsetting the balance. I also got the bx_digital V3 for mastering. So far very impressed, though there is SO MUCH to it! With both, I was looking for something to colour the mixes in a really interesting way. Highly recommend trying both out from Plugin Alliance I was looking for a Curve Bender kind of experience. I got what I wanted For channel strip EQ I want some colour again, and to limit my options. Cut it or crank it. API 550 / Scheps 73 etc The Kirchhoff looks ideal for anything needing more attention.

In case you are wondering why the spectrograph was show noise on the master buss when nothing was playing,. It's because a plugin(s) is leaking noise. That's how sensitive their spectrograph is. I identified 6 plugins that I own that are leaking noise, half were console emulators & one was a de-esser. I saw the same thing when I downloaded the demo & tried it. So I bought it right away. Also for it's main features too.

Skeuomorphism is totally farted at nowadays but I think when used creatively it is still useful. I love how this interface combines the FabFilter style layout with the model specific control pop up. Selecting an SSL model and then seeing the controls change to the classic console knob colors is badass. Plus it's useful if using many instances of this plugin...you can click through identify what model you're using by the knobs.

I have been really hesitant so far spending money on EQs except the ones coming with my Waves packages. @Matt, the noise that you see is often from a plugin configured to create analog noise. The FFT from the Kirchoff is so sensitive that it displays everything in detail. The kirchoff is my main EQ and I have it for about 6 months, and still I find new things in this "beast". Personally I don't use the 117bit mode, I don't need that bit depth all the way till -300db, it makes no sense, it only eats CPU power. But on some materials, I use the look ahead function. Like high processed 808 drums. I use the Kirchoff because it is in my Plugin alliance suite. It came at the right time, because I was planning to buy the Fabfilter Q3.

I’ve had this EQ for about a week now and it’s already changed my whole way of doing things, for the very much better. The specific case that had me try this was high hat taming, and I was glad to see that very situation addressed on this video! Bring up the sizzle and control the growl! I loathe using the term “game changer” but this EQ genuinely has.

Thanks Warren! FUN FACT: Filtering audio frequencies dates back at least to acoustic telegraphy and multiplexing in general. Audio electronic equipment evolved to incorporate filtering elements as consoles in radio stations began to be used for recording as much as broadcast. Early filters included basic bass and treble controls featuring fixed frequency centers, and fixed levels of cut or boost. These filters worked over broad frequency ranges. Variable equalization in audio reproduction was first used by John Volkman working at RCA in the 1920s. That system was used to equalize a motion picture theater sound playback system. How come the equalizer didn’t see the compressor coming? Because it had a quick attack! Have A Great Day Everyone!

this looks pretty good actually, its basically fab filters one but more more, i tend to use EQ's based on feel, as in what suits the song mood wise, within averages or approximations, buses help, use a limter or compressor pre or post whatevers to deal with the blind sculpture random stuff that happens, always go back to my ears, the visual information distracts me, but that could just be a me thing, the audience doesn't see that, only hear it...how does a piano, vocal, drumkit, bass sound and feel in real life, that reference point, but this looks like a great swiss army knife, a fine brush, i will look into this, be great with mixbus 32c I use for the hey listen to this button, Thanks W. coolios
