Hopper’s speech made me cry so hard. Because Hopper opened up so much in his speech, even though he didn’t say it to Mike and Eleven. He yet knew that he wanted his Memories with him and Eleven to last forever. And he missed all the old times with Eleven. But he also said in his note that he knew that Eleven would be growing up and would be focusing on her friends. Like Eleven would spend time with Mike. And Hopper was upset because of that. But I know that Hopper is alive. And I hope that Eleven and Hopper will grow the best relationship.

He has to be. The first clue was when they showed the front of the machine/key, there was a spot he could climb down and be safe. Which probably led him to be captured by the Russians. A theroy I heard, was he possibly got sucked into the upside down, and the Russians somehow managed to make another "gate", thus capturing Hopper and the new demagorgon.
