A breakout role is the film you become really famous for. This didn't make her famous; it was just an early role she happened to be in. Her breakout roles were probably Lost in Translation and Girl With a Pearl Earring, both from 2003, though she got a lot of acclaim for his supporting role in The Horse Whisperer in 1998, a year after this movie.

@@polelix1023 Rear Window is a Hitchcock movie (totally worth watching if you've not seen it) about a man spying on his neighbours who may, or may not, have witnessed a murder. There's not much to get really, Ryan's comparing Alex's character in HA to the main character in RW. It's funny because RW is classic of the genre, by a director at the height of his powers and HA4 is... not. Agreed. I feel like people judge 3 too harshly but then again I saw 3 before 1. If anything I think that’s the best way to watch them so you don’t immediately hate 3 for not having Kevin.

Underrated opinion: Home Alone 3 was a really decent movie. Just think of it as a stand alone film and not a home alone film that’s connected to parts 1-2 and you have a really good movie!

It's just a different kid who's home alone, don't really need to change the title of the movie because we're not following Kevin. Be thankful Kevin owns and runs a security company by the 6th movie.

I saw this one first which is why the first two didn't work as well for me because in 3 the mom is knocked to her nieces and apologizes for not believing Alex. That scene meant everything to me and had a lot to do with my feelings on life. On 1 and 2 Buzz never truly gets in trouble for his actions.

One big mistake about Home Alone 3 is the fact that despite having chicken pox, Alex never once shows other symptoms of the chicken pox. Sure he scratches a bit here and there, but there are other symptoms besides that. Obviously the screenwriter (John Hughes) either never had chicken pox or he didn't do any research on it. I'm guessing both.
