Planted tanks - even the smallest ones - help us relax, forget about the everyday problems. They deliver continuous stories of a natural underwater environment: the harmony of fish, plants, sand, rocks, and wood. Topped with the experience of a true feast - feeding the fish. To observe all this is the ultimate therapeutical experience. This video tells you the story of Balazs' 5-month-old home nano tank. Sit back and relax.

"If I can convince you somehow that you can do it, that you can think of a great layout, and plant it with the proper plants and have a lot of details in your tank. Then my mission on this channel is done." This is such a wholesome channel and what a great guy. I'm also in the middle of battling algae that bloomed right during quarantine, for similar reasons as this tank. It took some detective work to figure out what I did wrong, but I'm finally regaining control of the algae. The greatest thing is this video somehow helped me feel a bit better from the guilt by seeing how you went through something similar. Keep up the great videos!

My first planted tank is right now and it's a 75-gallon "high-tech" setup!. You inspired me with your Pagoda Stone Video. So I bought about 120# of Pagoda Stone and found some beautiful Driftwood on a local beach. It's heavily planted with Monte Carlo, Hygrophila Pinnatafida, Myrio Red & Green, Ludwigia Super Red Mini, Pogostemon Helferi, and many other species. I wouldn't have had the "balls" to take this challenge on if it wasn't for you and the other KZbinrs who inspired me to create my own masterpiece. It's been going two months now and going good. I now also have a beautiful planted nano CRS tank as well. Thanks as always for the content!

Had to move just before the pandemic unfolded, then, various circumstances prevented me from restating my tanks. The two fish I still have left, are still in their heated, temporary, clear tub. Finally, I have started and my tanks and they are progressing through their dark start cycling. I can hardly wait till planting day, followed by stocking fish. Like you say; aquascaping, aqua gardening and fishkeeping is wonderful, centering, therapy!

Beautiful my friend. I have a question I’m also in the process in setting up a planted aquarium. I got inspired with your beautiful tanks at Green Aqua including your personal tank. I just purchased a Twinstar 600E I got a dimmer with it also. 7 levels to adjust the dimmer. Should I turn up the light all the way up? Doing something similar to your tank to the plants.
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 4 жыл бұрын
If you have CO2 you can gradually bring the lighting levels up, yes. Just to be on the safe side. See? this is why I don't like advanced tech (like adjustable filters, lights, etc) because they make you think. I just put the light on and fought the algae, haha.
@Jcislrd7

I have always done low tech no co2 injection, (some times no) filter but your videos have inspired me do co2 and filtration. You can't beat that beautiful plant growth you get from the co2 injection, plus the water agitation from the filter. Yes there are good low tech tanks, but in this hobby some times you just have to take a chance ❤️ (plus, those lily pipes are just eye candy for aquarium hobbiest)

Absolutly agree, theese scapes really enjoyable to build, and to relax next to them. It make your home more cozy. 👌✌️

You are finally back! i was quite worried about where u went! My first tank i went straight for co2 system and i am happy with it! And my yellow shrimp does the same thing, they hang on to the drift wood just to eat the fish food on the surface of the water. I always feed them while enjoy my coffee/tea in the morning. i am considering buying a camera because my phone dont really take good macro shots. but cameras are expensive!

Oh, yeah the are, tell me about it, haha. A good macro is imperative, we only have a 50mm on this apsc camera we have, but Viktor's 100mm on his Canon makes much much better pictures.

Green Aqua By the way, whatever happened to the cardboard panels or sheet metal shade project to solve the morning ambient light issue? Is that not so much a problem anymore due the lockdown?
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I mentioned that in the video, but edited it out later, the whole thing was like 40 minutes, haha. Anyway, I did an L-shaped cardboard box that overhung on top and stood by itself, and used that every morning. I stopped using it after the tank cleared up, and waiting to see if it needs to be put back or not.
@dpatten
@dpatten 4 жыл бұрын
HAHA, well, I would have stuck around for the full 40min. I’m still using a fitted box shade, not so much for ambient room lighting, but for evening sunlight that comes all the way through from the opposite side of the house! If I hadn’t been working from home these days, I might not have noticed why algae seemed to really love that one small edge of the tank so much! Hahaha Thanks for sharing, Balazs.
