yes - I have a connection issue; from what I read, the dongle these days have some encryption - so assume best I try using the RS485 to USB form the Meter port on the Deye;

Two questions for you @NicoSteenkamp, 1. What firmware version does your dongle have? 2. Where did you read about the encryption? I am releasing a video in the next few days on a new platform for connecting Home Assistant to your inverter which should make things a lot easier. Maybe keep an eye out for that one :-)

Thank you @cnc_mill , you should have a look at the KellerZA integration video I made . Depending on the Solarman wifi dongle you have, you should be able to write settings back to the inverter from Home Assistant.

@@SolarIntegrations meinen sie die gelbe integration mit mqtt? Diese habe ich zu erst versucht aber ich konnte nicht alle werte finden und habe auch keinen weg gefunden welche hinzu zu fügen. Ich bin froh das ich nun werte habe und eine einfache automation "klicken" kann. Wenn keine ahnung von Programmierung hat ist man froh über jeden erfolg.

@@SolarIntegrations @SolarIntegrations do you mean the yellow integration with mqtt? I tried this first but I couldn't find all the values and couldn't find a way to add any. I'm glad that I now have values and can "click" a simple automation. If you have no idea about programming, you are happy with every success.

Good day. Firstly thanks for the video. Helped a lot in setting up my solarman integration. Anybody else having issues when upgrading to v1.5.1? All sensors became unavailable. Was on v1.4.1 and everything was working perfect.

Hi @jeandreprinsloo8477 , I would suggest switching to the KellerZA integration as it will speak to the Solarman dongle directly and also allows you to change inverter settings from Home Assistant. it is much better than the one from Stephan. Thanks for the video. The project works like a charm for my Deye 12 kW 3-phase hybrid inverter but how can we update selected entries, e.g. "Solar Sell" via the Wifi dongle from HA?

Hi Kenneth, so you want to be able to see how much power you have sent back into the grid correct? If so, you are going to need to create a custom configuration file and then query the inverter for that value. Have a look on the Github page under customization github.com/StephanJoubert/home_assistant_solarman and then if you are struggling, get onto the powerforum.co.za as there are lots of people there who will be able to assist. I think the the Modbus register uyou will need to query is "077 Day_GridSell_Power Wh"

I think it is best to check with the author of the integration as far as compatibility with two inverters in parallel is concerned. Best to speak to them either on their project Github pages or on the Powerforum.co.za website.

I have functional communication between the Home assistant and the Sofar 11KLTX G3 inverter, but I need information regarding the direction of the power on the individual phases, because in the Czech Republic the measurement is carried out by individual phases. I would need the information that is in the SOLARMAN app. I can add and correct the registry address, but I couldn't find it anywhere or it doesn't work. 0:15

Hi @vladimirmadle1190 , Firstly, I would suggest that you try using the KellerZA integration instead of the Solarman one as it is better and allows for the writing of values back the inverter and adding your own registry query values. I have done a video on it as well. The 3-phase and single phases inverters have slightly different registers when it comes to the reporting on the power through the phases. Have you got it setup as a single phase or 3-phases inverter? I would install the KellerZA integration and set it up for a 3-phase inverter and see how it goes. Hi @vantienart, are you talking about from the discharge/recharge for the battery? If you have a look on the customisation page on the Github for Solarman it has instructions on customising your YAML code github.com/StephanJoubert/home_assistant_solarman/blob/main/customization.md . From the modbus document, I think that the modbus address's you are looking for are 072&073 - tatol_Batt_charge_PowerWh and 074, 075 - tatol_Batt_Discharge_PowerWh . If you get stuck get onto the powerforum.co.za and I am sure someone there will be able to assist you.

Sunsynk are being supplied with the Sunsynk dongle now adays so it will probably come with one of those. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Maybe just spend the R200 and get an ESP32 and the RS485 board, I think it is probably the best solution if you don't mind the cost.

Not with the standard Solarman Dongle. I think they do have a version which supports an RJ45 cable but have never seen one in SA (not saying they aren't available, just have never seen one)

Hi Aleksey, the ESP32 & RS485 shield & ESPhome from smarthomeintegrations.co.za is the probably best option in my opinion, although the KellerZA integration works very well as well. You should be able to connect to your dongle directly using the KellerZA option although your refresh frequency will be limited.

Yes it does work in Parallel. The KellerZa integration is better than this one though as it allows for the writing of values back to the inverter.

Hi Louis, there is a profile for the 12kw 3-phase Deye already. You just need to select the file in your configuration as it defaults to the 4,8,16kw inverters. The file is called "deye_sg04lp3.yaml and is for the DEYE/Sunsynk/SolArk Hybrid 8/12K-SG04LP3 e.g. 12K-SG04LP3-EU"

@@louismassey4490 You are going to need to do some changes to the standard deye_sg04lp3.yaml file to get the Dashboard working properly as it does not read the grid frequency, let me know if you get stuck and I can help you out as there only two things that need to be added and they are the same Modbus addresses on the 3-phase as the single phase from what I understand. I suggest you copy the existing file and use it as a base for own custom_parameters.yaml file so that it doesn't get overwritten when the Integration gets updated

Just tried so hard to connect Solarman to HA but all enteties are "unknown". My Stick Logger sn starts with 27xxx and i read that this is not V5 protocol but V4. shall i replace the stick with sn 17xxx 21xxx or 40xxx ? Is there any fix for this issue?

Hi @gerdbeutler3728 If you can't get the Solarman Dongle to work, my suggestion would be to rather get one of the ESP32 boards from SmartHomeIntegrations.co.za rather than buying another dongle as the refresh rate on the Dongles is not great as it is already sending the data to the cloud and using it for home assistant you are adding more load onto it. I have done a video on it and it is dead easy to setup. Please remember to subscribe to my channel if you aren't :-)

@@SolarIntegrations Problem solved already! After I installed the Sunsynk Integration from Kellerza that was working fine and miraculously the Solarman Integration was also filling with Data.

The KellerZa integration is definitely a better option@@gerdbeutler3728 . Just make sure you reduce the refresh rate a bit otherwise it can interfere with the data being uploaded to the cloud. Please remember to subscribe to my channel :-)

@@SolarIntegrations Subscribed already. and set reading to from 15 to 30 sec. I see now both (the Solarman and the sunsynk integration) in m overview. My next step is to make the appearance look better. I also like to access my HA when away from home, but it looks a bit complicated or is costing monthly.

I just found out that this guide is made for ones with serial numbers starting from 17xxx but mine 22xxx and 23xxx.

Hi Tanishq, if you can't get it to work (haven't heard of this problem before), the other option is to either use a RS485-USB adapter and connect to the inverter directly using the kellerza integration or get a ESP32 & RS485 module and connect to the inverter using that. Let me know if you can't get it working.

@@SolarIntegrations I will order an rs485 converter and try but as per what I read it wont work in parallel mode, I don't have it parallel right now but will pretty soon. And that code too was developed on the 5k, might not be meant for the 6k even though they are the same gen.

Had a look on the Github page and he does talk about an integration for collectors using the V4 protocol for Wifi dongles not in the 17xxxxxxx or 21xxxxxxx range. Maybe ask on the Discord channel if they have any suggestions for which integration to use. discord.gg/3HQJXR7qRd

Hi @normanpouch , at the moment, it is not possible to write settings back to the inverter using the Solarman integration. That may change in future or there may be another Solarman integration that will do it, the other option is to use the ESP32 integration which can write without any problem.

Hi Sian, you can either check on your router for a hosts list. Or use something like Angry IP scanner to scan your network for devices with a port 80 open

Hi @vaibhavhihoriya526, Sounds like you may something going on with the wifi to the dongle? You can check the signal strength to the dongle in SolarmanPV under the device logger info, my one is 94 for comparison and I have an access point a few metres away from it. I would also suggest using the KellerZA integration, it is much easier to setup and allows for thew writing of settings back to the inverter.

Thanks @leiflundberg6213 , this is one of the first video's I did and I had the gain up way too high when I recorded it, I had absolutely no clue at the time what I was doing (don't get me wrong, still a total novice). I am using a Fifine T669 and have since turned the levels right down since which seems to help. Check out one of my latest videos and let me know what you think still not 100% (or 80%lol) but better. I am going to get a better mic when funds allow, do yoiu have any suggestions on something that won't break the bank? Thank again for the feedback, appreciate it.

Thanks @NicoSteenkamp, I will ask around, that is the latest version of the firmware but have not heard of anyone else having issues writing settings back to the inverter using the dongle.
