I can't thank you enough! This channel has really been such a blessing. I literally had my cart ready at MicroRobotics to do the ESP32 integration, having watched a previous video from you and today I got to watch this one and don't need to explore the ESP32 anymore. You doing the Lord's work, keep it up!

ESP32 is still an awesome option as it is faster than using the dongle although using a RS485-USB or a bridge is also an option with the KellerZA integration

RS485 USB, is the USB delivering power to the adaptor? Is there a walkthrough using this setup that I can check out?@@SolarIntegrations
@SolarIntegrations11 ай бұрын
@@jawwaadkarjieker5389 The USB-RS485 plugs into your Home Assistant box and you run a cable to the inverter. Alternatively you can use one of the bridges listed on the KellerZA Github. You just change the serial port if you are using a USB, otherwise the installation is the same.

Fantastic video, there is not too much detail on this setup using the Solarman wifi dongle, so this fills a gap. If possible could you do a video on the various controls this method unlocks? Thanks again.

You rock thanks. I have been battling with the esp32 direct connection so want to try this. Is it compatible with the Sunsynk dongle ? Thanks again
@SolarIntegrations Жыл бұрын
Hi @duncanmiller5493, Unfortunately it will not speak to the Sunsynk dongle for data, you can however use it with an inverter with a Sunsynk dongle installed using either a USB-RS485 plugged into your home assistant pc (cheapest option) or alternatively you can get an RS485-ethernet bridge as described on the KellerZA Github page. You inverter will carry on communicating with the Sunsynk cloud and will also speak to your Home Assistant.

Is there a similar integration to directly communicate with the SunSynk dongle from magpie?
@SolarIntegrations2 ай бұрын
Unfortunately not, the only way to speak to the Sunsynk Dongle is via the cloud which means that the Sunsynk server needs to be running as well as your internet connection. The data is also limited to the refresh rate of the Sunsybk server so once every 3 minutes by default. Better to use the KellerZA integration with a USB-RS485 adapter and speak to the inverter directly.

Where can i find the portnumber following the ip number under Inverters/Port? (Don't know much about networks)
@SolarIntegrations Жыл бұрын
Hi @jorisheugebaert , you can use a piece of software like community.spiceworks.com/tools/ip-scan/ to scan your network for devices and ip addresses.

Hi everyone, There is a lack of sample and documentation using HAS with PyModBus. I am confused as what IP address to be used in PORT if it uses PyModbus instead of Solarman. I tried solarman method but somehow there is a conflict with Cloud and Local.

Hi @unwired , I would suggest posting either to the KellerZA's github page or alternatively you can often find him on the powerforum.co.za forums with your questions. He knows his integration backwards and is usually pretty quick to assist people where he can.

You can use two inverters by including another specification for the 2nd inverter after the first, with the updated address of course.

Hello, I am sending greetings from the Czech Republic. I was interested in the integration of KellerZA into Home Assistant and I would like to ask about the description under the video. You write that this integration could also work with the "Sofar" invertor, is there any more detailed information available or has someone already solved it with a 3-phase Sofar Solar HYD inverter? I specifically have a Sofar HYD 10KTL-3PH on the wall and I'm a little worried about its connection to the Home Assistant Thanks for any pointers to a solution. Have a nice sunny day 😁 Roman

Does this work with sunsynk dongle?
@SolarIntegrations4 ай бұрын
Hi @rashaadalli1529 , unfortunately there are no integrations that can speak to the Sunsynk Dongle directly, they all have to go via the Sunsynk cloud server. The best option is to just purchase a USB-RS485 adapter (pretty cheap) and connect directly to the inverter. This has the advantage of having a much faster refresh than the Sunsynk cloud (once every +-15 seconds vs once every 3 min) and you not having to have internet access for it to work (and the SUnsynk cloud is not the most reliable at the moment).
