Here in NZ not only is homebrew duty/tax free but so is home distilling. Once had a Gewürztraminer Grappa a winemaker friend made that was about 90% abv. Brutal, but 10ml in a mug of black coffee was a fantastic morning wake me up.

First of all - welcome to the hobby! Homebrewing definitely can be as complicated as you stated in the intro but it can be also pretty straight forward, even without a fancy system like the iGulu. With that being said, I think it's a great way to get people into the hobby as you don't really need to know much about the beer making process. The beer usually would stay fresh even longer than a month with the process being utilized - the beer never sees any light or neither oxygen which both are to be avoided in order to keep the beer tasting the best. However if you can't go through a 5l keg in a month, well.. Let's not go that route here lol. The reason why the first pint was foamy is likely because the pressure that was being built during fermentation was a little bit too high, but you can easily adjust it. You need to try a DDP - Dirty Dr Pepper for episode 200 as it combines beer and the taste of Dr Pepper! Drink 3/4 of your pint, then top it up to a half pint with Coke, then drop a shot of amaretto in it (preferably still in the shot glass) and neck it! It should taste uncannily like Dr Pepper! Many a classic night out has started with a few of these cheeky bad boys! Cheers! 🍻

Low tech poverty brew: a cup of sugar in a 2 Litre ocean spray cranberry juice, mix (remove 1 cup of juice first) then sprinkle in half a packet of quick rise yeast, dont mix, let it sit on top. Crack the lid open slightly, leave it for 4 or 5 days. It is cheap & good. It's basicslly prison hooch😂.

Friend tried the "Pinter" automatic brewing system. Worked out well the first time round. Nearly blew it up the second time. So kind of put it to one side. I think theirs is a bit more basic

😅"Pinter" is more like a fermentation vessel and can't be temperature controlled without power. Temperature and pressure are important in the fermentation process of alcoholic beverages.

I had a similar sudden urge for Lilt after realising hadn't seen it for some time and was unwell didnt want Coke like usually do 😁 anyway it is now rebranded as Fanta and it is a light blue can. Many ahops said simply we don't do it anymore which made me think nah I want and need it. Anyway, luckily it is not gone but it is much less sugar than originaly was so less of a sugar fizzy cold pick me up boost effect sadly 😂

$20 + $19.99 shipping for 3 liters of beer, $7 for 1 liter in Norway (which already is crazy expensive) so $21 for 3 litres. So you spend $19 more for homebrewed beer, that takes a week. Great business model, these guys are bankrupt within 2025.
