Thank you for this recipe! 🤗 I just made a HUGE batch and have some tips if that's okay. This is a great recipe but when multiplying the recipe be aware that some ingredients you may not want to do that with. Such as red pepper flakes and the soy sauce. It can make it TOO hot and TOO salty. I did mine x6. Had to add more brown sugar and I also put in about a cup of fresh honey to help curb the heat. The heat really isn't all that noticeable until after you simmered your meat in it for a little while before canning it. Which means that once it's canned, even if you didn't simmer your meat in it first, it's gonna get hotter during the process. I was not able to snuff the extra saltiness. However, I think if doing more than a double recipe only do half the amount of soy and instead use packaged chicken broth for the other half. I made 2 family pkgs of boneless skinless chicken breasts and 1/2 a family pkg of thighs. It was about 13- 14 lbs. To have enough broth I x6 the recipe. It IS great recipe but maybe for the reasons I mentioned that's why it makes so little. Oh btw, I did use Jim Beam Bourbon (apple bourbon) 😀 I thought the apple would compliment it nicely and it did 😉 😄 As far as the salt goes I think when I serve this I'm gonna serve it over bland rice or potatoes and vegetables with having had no salt whatsoever added.. I believe that should balance it out.. Next batch I'm gonna do as I said in my suggestions.

Update! One of the quart jars didn't seal so guess what I had for dinner? 😁 Here's what I did; I cooked a Success Rice Boil in the bag Jasmine. Put the jar contents in a medium pot, threw in a handful of julienned tricolor bell peppers and a handful of onion. Heated to boiling and thickened with cornstarch. Placed steamed broccoli florets to one side of the plate and rice to the other then spooned the bourbon chicken with gravy across the middle of them. It was absolutely delicious!!! The jasmine was a perfect compliment to the chicken as was the broccoli and it didn't taste salty at all 😁
