That guy in the white shirt looks like he has a temper! Also the way he kept looking at the guy in the red he looked as if at anytime he could kill him! I cried when watching this because I was in the EXACT same predicament as the guy in the red. My ex-boyfriend use to pound on all the time no matter how many times I tried to please him. He cut me off from my friends and family, he wouldn't even let get a job, he also would force me to have sex with him, even when I didn't want to!

A haunting clip of the turmoil caused by gay domestic abuse. It's clear from many of the comments here that the problem still is not taken seriously -- "I would have done.." "he's skinny..." The intimidation is emotional and psychological more than physical.. breaking away from an abuser is never as easy as it may seem

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong! Domestic Violence is about power and control. Its not about love, or who is bigger, or who is the "Wife" or the "Husband".
@durchhalter15 жыл бұрын
well, violence in relationships is not just about advantages in mass and strength, it's more about willingness to hurt someone or the inability to control violent urges. Like Mark Twain said: It's not about the size of the dog in the fight, it's about the size of the fight in the dog.

WOW! Such a strong video - thanks for sharing it. I agree with jonwiley, it's easy for everyone to criticize or say "I would do..." this or that --- the physical abuse is visible but the emotional and psychological abuse is much much stronger (and scarier). I've seen family and friends (straight and gay) go through similar and I think that's probably why I've never let anyone get too close to me. Thanks again for sharing the video.

@DarklingKiss I never thought this would happen to me, I had never encountered it before in my life. I somehow suspect that where alcoholism is involved that all sorts of other ills crop out, including domestic violence. I stupidly thought that me being kind, forgiving and gentle would cure his ills. And the weird thing is that I am stronger and y9ounger than him physically. When I told him that he would say "Well I am willing do worse things to you". I still feel sorry for him,sorry.

I myself was in an abusive relationship too. My ex-boyfriend use to beat the shit out of me on a regular basis. Whenever he was angry he would take it out on me. He was also aggressive, controlling, and jealous. Whenever we would go out to clubs and a guy would come up to me and ask me to dance I would tell them that I already have a boyfriend, but he would still get pissed at me and beat me up when we got home. I finally had enough when he beat me so bad that I suffered a broken cheek.

For those wondering why the dark-haired guy didn't hit back given that he was obviously stronger -- I think it's pretty obvious that the abusive twinkie was the main breadwinner who paid for the apartment and the fashionable furniture, and therefore the other guy would've felt guilty about "biting the hand that feeds him."

If anything the violence in gay relationships is a harder bigger issue than in straight relationship because people don't give a damn if a guy hits another dude so people simply turn a blind eye to it. It's very sad how the world is. If people cared a little more about other human beings there'd be no voilence at all.

Zak Butler I can read lips. Basically the guy in the white came in and said, "Hey, do you want a drink?" The guy in the red responded by saying, "No," and "You're home early," to which the guy in white said, "So?" Then when the guy in the red flinched away from him the guy in the white tried to embrace him and said, "What's wrong? How's that cheek? It looks a lot better." Then the guy in the red said, "Yes, it's much better. It almost doesn't hurt now." Then the guy in the white wrapped his arm around his neck, yanked him back and said, "You are such a whiner." Then they sat in silence until 4:30 when the phone rang and the guy in the white said he would get it. When he answered the phone he said words to the effect of "Hello. Oh, I'm terribly sorry he's not available at the moment. May I take a message?" Does that help?

There's probably the same amount of violence in gay couples as there are in straight. If anything it may seem like there's more violence in gay couples than straight but that's only because there's much more straight people. It's hard to tell the exact number because most gay couples don't go advertising their relationship like straight people do and violence in any relationship gay or straight often goes unreported because the victims are so blinded by love or insecurity.

Well it could be someone he cared about and some people have qualms about causing harm towards others even if they're assholes like that guy in white. I'm like that. I can never raise my hand to another person, not even to defend myself. And if someone else was about to be hurt, I'd shield them from the blow. I just can't stand seeing people in pain no matter how much of a jerk they are. I don't see how that makes me weak.

Live and let live. Love and let love. Who is to judge another and commit acts of hatred to another for being gay. Who is anyone to tell another they can not be who they are. Hate and harm gives way to hate and harm. Love and kindness gives way to love and kindness. Look within yourself and know the pain and plight of another. Life is met to be lived peacefully and to be kind and good to one another. What purpose is for life if people and laws are consumed by hatred. Bless are they that hunger for justice for they will have their fill. For now do unto others as you would have others do unto you. Treat others right and the way you would treat yourself.
