Thanks for video. I would like to add that the Air Manager desktop is even better now. The Longitude WT G5000 with GTC touch controllers makes AM touchscreens almost stand-alone. There is a complete Longitude AM panel by "sling" that has everything working. AFCS, MFD/PFD lights, ice, e-panel, pedestal. Etc. Should be released AM 4.2. AM desktop panel solutions are great for vatsim ifr because there is no mouse/keyboard needed. They are also very flexible for different aircraft. With Hardware simpits you are stuck with one aircraft usually.

Thanks for this heads up. It's been cool watching them develop the tech. Is Sling a developer?

Yes, he is affiliated with Siminnovations. There is a youtube video that describes it in detail. Imo the wt g5000 and the longitude is a better choice than the vision jet. I can fly all sids, stars, RNP .3 certified approaches on vatsim etc. has nose wheel steer and the AT is great. Anyways, I use same stuff as you. TM tpr, alpha, bravo. I built a mobile simpit on wheels out of unistrut. 3 32" lg nano ips, 2 Touchscreens below, knobster, corsair vengeance 4090. I have TM boeing yoke coming. Alpha is sticky and low res in pitch. Does not work well with longitude. Good luck someday send pic of mobisim. Retired, not affiliated or selling anything.

Great idea moving the honeycomb down below
@IvanSkyFlight Жыл бұрын
It makes a difference, but the desk has to be high enough. I like having some desk space back. Maybe space for a small touch panel lying flat.
@DownTheRabbit-Hole Жыл бұрын
Another option is to use the vision jet and a sidestick. This works well with AM touchscreens

Great video, thanks! I am getting the Alpha and Bravo in a few days, and I would love to mount them under the desk like you. But I am wondering if the screws/mounting threads on top of the units are actually designed to take the weight as well as the force applied when using them? I think they're designed for mounting panels like your Logitech panels on top, so with that in mind, I am worrying that they're not actually meant to take the forces mounted this way?
@IvanSkyFlight2 ай бұрын
Reportedly, the Honeycomb units are NOT meant to be under mounted as I have done. Having said that, I have had no issues with it mounted under the desk. Note: currently I only have the Bravo undermounted. I am now using a different yoke. Don't do anything you are not comfortable with. Keep doing research. These things are not cheap. Start with them mounted using the clamps. Go from there.

Suggestion for 6.0 (don't tell your internal finance dept): Yoko+ yoke makes a HUGE difference!!! Just my 2 Cents...

I looked at the Yoko a bunch. Never got to put my mits on one, though. It looks great. I'm excited about the Simionic with force feedback as well.

Greetings Ivan. I have room for a couple of the Winaxit displays. Can you point me to instructions on setting up the physical connections from the GPU to daisy chain two Winaxit displays. I have an Nvidia 4090. I'm unsure if I can daisy chain the displays or if they require individual connections back to the GPU. Thanks.

Thanks for the great videos. I see you replaced the Winaxit displays. I realize the Planars are larger. Was there any quality issues with the Winaxits causing you to swap them out after a few months? I’ve never heard of Winaxit but have them under consideration. Thanks

No issue at all with the other monitors (Wimaxit and Uperfect). This was a decision strictly based on size. With the bigger monitors I can recreate more cockpits. In fact, I still use the other monitors. Since this video was made I connected one of the 13.3 inch monitors with a USB connector.

I just saw this video and decided to watch it - which I'm glad I did! I currently have a very crowded desktop and would love to regain some of that space back! With the Alpha and Bravo mounted under your desk, what height do you have the tabletop set to? I'm just under 6' tall (for reference) and while I have thought about putting those devices under the desktop I have shied away from it for fear of my knees getting in the way with the worst case scenario being that I destroy the Alpha yoke. Great video and thanks.
@IvanSkyFlight Жыл бұрын
Thank you! So right now I have the table set to 28 inches/72 cm from the bottom of the desk surface to the ground. I am 5'10". This desk elevates way higher than that so if you built something like this you should be fine.
@ArtG-49 Жыл бұрын
@@IvanSkyFlight Thanks for the response. I figured - given the range in the table heights - that it would work fine. I actually ordered and have received the base. All I need is a table top and the time to tear everything apart and build it all back up again. No looking forward to that :-)

Hey Ivan thanks for the video, I'm building a vision jet cockpit, will be using the pop out app for the monitors, I will need air manager for the arduino to be used on the buttons. How well does the vision jet panel work on airmanager. Thank you.
@IvanSkyFlight Жыл бұрын
I actually have a video of Air Manager, Pop Out Panel Manager, and the Vision Jet. In the descritpion of that video is the Github address where the instruments can be downloaded. They are developed by Simstrumentation and are excellent. My understanding is that eventually, those instruments will come included with Air Manager, but they are really easy to install now. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mp_MeX6qm9R0nMU

Ivan. Love the videos. After 35 years not deciding to go the pilot path in the military, I'm finally taking steps to get my ppl and am building a sim. I use one 43" monitor for the sim and 2 touch screens for the instruments. However, the computer/windows 11 only recognizes 1 touch screen at a time and only HID-compliant touch screen is shown in device manager. Did you ever run into that problem? Any tips on setup?
@IvanSkyFlight Жыл бұрын
Let's start with some info. What kind of touch screens do you have? Also, have you watched this video? kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6ecYmpmjZVmqKc

@@IvanSkyFlight I have watched everything I could on your channel. After a lot more research, it looks like it is an issue with the Prechen touch screens. I'm going to return them and try out the WIMAXIT and see if those work. Windows should recognize both of those automatically. I'll let you know what I find.

I use 2 Asus 21" touchscreens so i know it works with more than 1. You have to do the lame tablet calibrate procedure for each mon. Make sure use hdmi as well as usb for each mon. Good luck

Hey Ivan, man that is an excellent build! Which cockpit view do you use when flying since the MFDs are right in front of you?
@IvanSkyFlight Жыл бұрын
Thanks, brother! When it's just me, on the screen I have it where you can barely see the top of the instruments, so my view on the screen is like 90 percent or more front window. When I stream a flight, I know that is boring so I tilt the view down so the gauges and instruments can be seen.

Hello Ivan! Thank for the great explainations for Airmanager and Popout Manager. I have linked your videos in a big german fligthtsim forum and there i try to show my experiences with that setup in MSFS. At the Moment i have one big problem: Whenever i touch a button on the touchscreen the mousepointer is set to the spot, i have touched. After that it is not possible to give any inputs to the sim for e.g. ATC or sometimes not even for steering. I have to bring back the mousepointer to the simscreen manualy, by movig it with the mouse. That is very inimmersive. Do you know any solution for that issue in MSFS?
@ichwill4022 Жыл бұрын
For the case you did not read it yet, i have found a workaround for that issue. It is not the best solution, but it is a solution.

Yes, definitely the mouse focus issue persists. Siminnovations said might fix in AM 4.2. Here is a hack: Whenever you do something on AM touchscreen and focus is there, before you go back to, perhaps keyboard, touch a grey part of GTC on AM touchscreen. This focuses mouse back to main program. Good luck
@DownTheRabbit-Hole Жыл бұрын
You do not have to search for mouse and click on main screen with this method. Just touch on grey unused portion og GTC.

Ironic as I now have a 4070 Ti. I use Nvidia products because of the their NVENC encoders which are almost a must for streaming. If I didn't stream, I would certainly love to try some different cards!
